So the same year Witchita State, the crown jewel of midmajor basketball, departs from the MVC for the AAC another conference school, Loyola Chicago is likely headed to the Final Four. Wow.

RE: MVC
The main TV coverage told of Loyola-Chicago's victory over Miss State to win the NC in 1963. An interesting sidelight to the story was how the Miss State team had to sneak out of their state to play in the NCAA Tournament since MS Law forbade "White" teams from playing racially mixed teams. Coach Babe McCarthy and the team had to use subterfuge to leave the state.

Alabama had the same laws and a mixed game was not played instate until 1969 (after the Civil Rights Laws of 1964, 1965 and 1968) when USC brought Sam "Bam" Cunningham to Legion Field and won 42-21.

Been a long time since the Ramblers have been in the national consciousness. Shows that we can be there again too. It would help if we could consolidate around the east of the Mississippi CUSA schools.* That league wouldn't be far from the MVC and A10.
