Terrell Brown should be familiar with the GCU team. He attended high school at Moreau Catholic HS with Oscar Frayer and Damari Milstead.
The video below is Brown's junior year in HS with Frayer (#24) and Milstead (#11). Brown is of course #12.

If a coach really wants a player, you make room on your roster.

The coach yanks someone else's scholarship. Its harsh, but it happens.
Or the coach just tells a player they are no longer needed and give them the option to transfer.
It happened to Ian Baker. He had originally signed to play at Providence. One day into the Fall semester they yanked his scholarship. They said it was because surgery he had months before. They gave his scholarship to another player. Baker had to pay for a semester at Providence before transferring.

Too harsh in my opinion. Glad GCU did not do that for Zamora. Yanking a scholarship reverses the order from "student-athlete" to "athlete-student" and is an example of all that is wrong with college basketball.

Looks like the #1 junior college kid Mitchell dropped NMSU from his short list and GCU is still on there with 4 other schools. If you GCU does get this guy it will be a game changer for GCU.

Hopefully GCU has a scholarship available by the time Mitchell decides on a school. I would hate for Majerle to tell him he needs to walk on because he doesn't have a scholarship available.

I'm pretty sure this GCU fan committed a recruiting violation:

RE: NMSU lands #39 Rated JUCO Recruit
Looks like the JC arms race is well on its way...
NMSU has the #43 JUCO in the 2017 class redshirting; 6'6 Wayne Stewart. And, supposedly, NMSU has a verbal commitment from the #39 JUCO in the 2018 class; 6'3 Terrell Brown.
UT Rio Grande Valley has the #63 JUCO in the 2017 class redshirting; 6'10 Ndene Gueye.
UMKC signed the #80 JUCO in the 2018 class; 6'6 Jamal Allen
CSUB signed the #75 JUCO in the 2018 class; 6'8 Darius Williams. And, they have currently made an offer to the #76 JUCO; 6'5 Keandre Cook.
GCU is listed in the final 5 schools for the services of the #1 JUCO in the 2018 class; 6'4 Wendell Mitchell. And, UVU just made an offer to the #2 JUCO in the 2018 class; 6'3 Jordan Brangers. Brangers was originally listed in the 2017 class and first signed with Texas Tech. Then asked for his release and signed with Western Kentucky. However, he did not meet the academic requirements and went back to JC. Where he then committed to Colorado State for 2018. Now that Eustachy has been fired, he is look for a new home again. His JC team (South Plains) just won the NJCAA Division 1 National Championship.

Yuck. That's exactly why there are rules prohibiting stuff like this. Not sure why or how people think input from random strangers who don't know a thing about their lives is going to help student a athletes make one of the biggest decisions of their lives. I'm just as interested in the outcome as anyone, but fans have to know their place. Sit down and let the coaches do their jobs.
