RE: Baseball weekend March 23-25
I'm not feeling good about our team this year but so far they've got it done in conference play. Maybe we're improving.

Cajuns have been deeply flawed all year. They have very good pitching, but their offense is struggling to score in support of that staff. Puts them in a situation where if a pitcher has even an average day, it could be a certain loss.
There's not one team in the West without a huge flaw of some kind. Hell, Little Rock might actually be the best team based off early results. They have a series win at Troy, which is probably better than Texas State's home sweep of App. They also have a couple nice wins in OOC play.
With the West champ guaranteed at worst the 2 seed this year, we probably are looking at another year where South or CCU beats the West champ by 3 or 4 games but gets seeded lower because of a divisional format that I admittedly don't see the need for.
Flawed is being kind regarding the Cajuns baseball team right now. As you mentioned, our pitching has been decent. But the hitting is abysmal! And it's been on a downward trend for a few years (since the last hitting coach departed for HC job at Sam Houston State). So most of the "meltdown" on Ragin Pagin is directed at the current hitting coach; and it definitely seems justified! Hoping we can make the tournament at this point!

So first team to 2 runs wins this weekend?
We might score 30 one game, but probably won't score the other two.

That's usually nonsense but not this year.

The eastern division is by far the stronger one this year in baseball
