And he is from VA Beach in ODUs BACKYARD of the Tidewater VA area. Man you ODUers are sensitive MFers. Jeff Jones wouldn't know what to do with him anyway, that or he would just run him off like he always does those who start out as freshman. Should I list them all Jones has run off. Enjoy another year of sub par football and mediocre basketball.

Dude, we know you're salty Marshall went 0-2 vs the Monarchs. It's time to get over it.

Y'all won the conference tournament. Y'all represented well in the NCAAs.

Enjoy that.

Focus on that and less on ODU sweeping the Herd.

It's seriously weird how often you have to mention ODU, especially when none of us are talking trash about Marshall. Y'all had a better year than ODU and you likely will next year. Leave the 0-2 record behind.

And no, this is not being sensitive. This is calling out a lame attempt to pass off this recruit as stolen from our backyard when we werent interested. We didnt offer him.

And where were the ODU players on March 18th. Either watching the tournament or on the Golf course, because their season ended on March 9th at the hands of WKU.

Jones sucks as a coach and well ODU overall sports are mediocre at best. But yet your entire fan base thinks you are to good for this conference. I for one now wish we would have left you where we found you, in the dying CAA.

Another non conference game for next year looks to be Duquesne.

McDevitt apparently has reacquired one of his Asheville signees for the '18 class.

A 6'6 (or 6'7" depending where you look) point guard - Anthony Crump.

This was one of my fears for Middle that McDevitt would go after the players that had already committed to him at Ashville or he would continue to recruit those who he had a relationship with for his 1st 2 classes at Middle.

Not trying to disrespect the Big South but truth is most Big South players would get run over by those who play in CUSA. Last year there was a player at Poca HS in Poca WV. He played AAU ball with Jarrod West and Darius George at Big Shots Elite. He committed to Liberty in his JR year. After West and George committed to Marshall everyone at Liberty thought Dan would try and take him. Never happened. Dan said he had looked at him and even though he was 6'4 185 pounds Dan said his footwork was to slow and his shot was way to funky.

I realize that McDevitt is behind the 8 ball this year in recruiting after getting to Murfreesboro in the middle of April and that all 3 of Middle's commitments ask for their release, I can remember Dan's 1st class it wasn't pretty.

For Middle's sake I hope this is the only player McDevitt signs he was attached to but I fear it won't be. I fear in a few years if he brings in more like this Middle will get run over.

Most Big South players are below CUSA standards but there's always exceptions. Trey Freeman was a transfer from Campbell.

Looks like this is the only freshman he is going to sign. I don't know how good he is, but he can handle the ball. Having a bigger guy that has ball handling skills can make it the floor and contribute. I suspect he becomes a 2 or 3 with his size and is not likely to play point for MT.

Not sure if posted previously, but McDevitt acquired a transfer from Arkansas this past week, but he will sit a year. The problem for McDevitt right now is over the last two years we've lost between really good to elite talent in the blocks. Upshaw, Williams, King, and Walters all had the ability to directly impact the outcome of a game. We don't currently have a 4 or 5 on the roster who can do that unless Gamble finally fulfills his once promising profile.

Losing Carlos Curry, IMO, was the biggest loss of the three, because he's got excellent size at 6'11", is very adept around the rim, but can also step out and hit jump shots. All four the bigs mentioned above had that ability to post you up or shoot from the outside which really present a lot of matchup problems for the league. We just don't have anyone like that right now.

And bro, just because your ego is lifted with the wins and damaged by the losses, thus your constant projecting in odus direction, doesn’t mean we are all like you. You say enjoy this, enjoy that, to most of us, it doesn’t change a whole lot in our lives. You type these essays here on nearly every post, which tells me that it is extremely important to your ego that you throw all of this garbage in our faces any change you can get. You have a complex no doubt and more than likely suffer thru some psychological issues, but I don’t feel bad for you, you are hilarious. And pathetic.

Here's the thing, not many people on here actually like ODU. You all barged into the conference as if you were going to be the savior when in reality you brought nothing but the Tidewater market, that's it. You all act as if you have the pedigree of Memphis or even UConn when in reality you aren't even on WKU or MTSUs level.

ODU and Charlotte for that matter have done absolutely nothing. Here's the truth CUSA would have been better off going after Appy State and GA Southern, sure they both usually suck in basketball but at least they would be competitive in football most years.

I'm sure I'm not the only one that creeps on your board here and reads it. Most of you think you are above CUSA and shouldn't be here. When you have done jack squat in CUSA. Most of your fan base think you deserve to be in the AACk or either go to the A10 and send your football team out to dry in indy or put them back to IAA.

I don't care if ODU ever succeeds in CUSA or where ever you are, I know I won't be rooting for you.

I can't stand Appy State, toooooo many things to bring up. But at least I can respect them. I have no respect for ODU, you are about as low on my totem pole as it gets.

Dude, all that trash, that I didn’t even read, does nothing to me or anyone else here that supports Odu. You’ve obviously got deeper issues. You should take some time away from the keyboard and enjoy some self reflection because you really do come off as a disturbed person through your posts. You say things like “ I won’t be rooting for you” see that’s your ego... an ego fueled by the success of kids likely half your age. No one has asked for your support, and no one is losing sleep over the fact that user name “herdzoned” won’t root for Odu. I don’t think I’ve ever seen someone so bothered by such trivial **** in my life.... and man, you’d be surprised, you probably actually are one of the few non Odu supporters that stalk our board. For all the reading you claim to do, you must have missed the half of us that pretty much constantly rag on our athletics

Blah .... Blah, Blah .... Blah, Blah .... Blah, Blah, Blah, Blah.

How on earth would you know what everybody else is thinking. You evidently have memory blocked that ODU finished the season before last tied with WKU for 1st place in C-USA football (ahead of Marshall). WKU won the tie breaker due to their head-to-head win (congrats WKU). ODU also finished this past season 2nd in Men's Basketball, one game behind MTSU (again, ahead of Marshall), and smacked down Marshall in both games they played against one another. Let's face it. Having your great team lose twice this past season to ODU is what your rant is really all about, isn't it. It is hardly like App State or GA Southern would have done collectively better.

Once again I'm seeing "All hat, no horse" from your commentary.

All of your commentary reminds me of an old Blaine Taylor comment -

"All hat and no horse".

Around here we say "Big hat, no cattle".

That sounds fitting. Our former Men's Basketball coach - Blaine Taylor - was from Montana. I guess there is a slight geographical difference applied to the saying. Ultimately though, the meaning comes out the same. Thanks for sharing that tidbit OptimisticOwl.

Good get. I hope you guys humiliate them.

(Although it will be hard to get much lower than their 16-seed loss this past March.)
