If that happens then this is the time to reorganize. We have the makings of a good football AND basketball league if we shift our emphasis east and be very selective in adding members. We have a core that have a lot of shared history and long running rivalries. We've had success in basketball and play some good football too. Time to refocus on that and quit trying to be a not so superconference.

*I could see the F_U's being included to bolster football. Maybe a few non-football members like CofC could help balance their miserable basketball.

Rotate the conference tournament between Nashville, Birmingham, Atlanta, and Charlotte.

Plenty of slots in crappy bowl games would still be available for this group too.

A MUCH better spot for UAB while we prep for a move to the AAC.

If Judy gets to pick, she'll add West Kansas Polytechnic at Dodge City, or Lubbock State Gas & Diesel Fitters Academy.

Congrats to them if they can get out.

If they leave, we should add Ga St to shift the geographic footprint east.

Agreed - 12 or 9 would be optimum

CUSA isn't a terrible league and i like the geographic diversity of the schools that make it up; unfortunately that's also one of the biggest detriments to this league. We may have a competitive advantage over the MAC and the SBC, even if it's negligible in certain years, but there's no doubt they hold a geographic advantage with their smaller footprint. UTEP has always been one of my favorite conference mates since they joined, especially during the Davis years when we had some great basketball games with them, but I think we'd all be better off if they left. If we could cut another Texas school (UNT or UTSA) that wouldn't be so bad either.

Stay at 13. Another school moving is a very real possibility. UConn leaving the AAC is a frequent rumor that might have legs. The MWC poaching another school from us is very possible. No sense in adding a school to get to an even number, only to be at an odd number again in 2 years, but now with more dead weight.

I'm all for the geographic footprint of this conference shrinking. I really wish we'd add some full-member Georgia or South Carolina schools though. Glancing at our conference map makes it look like there's a huge gaping hole between North Carolina and Florida.
