Arizona made 2 three pointers.

College basketball has become so lopsided with the three pointer that any good team can beat any other good team in a given game, regardless of what time of the year they play or in the NCAA Tournament and they call them all upsets.

You obviously did not watch the Buffalo-Arizona game very closely. Arizona made 2-18 three-pointers because of Buffalo's defensive strategy and execution. It was not by chance. It was planned and carried out to perfection.

I sure hope so. We went 18-13 with a 187 SOS. Finished with 155 RPI, 108 Kenpom, 6th in CUSA. That's a bad year

16-16, 198 RPI, 7th in CUSA in Ehsans first year.

I just don't see it with losing Cokley and Lee, but who knows. Just hope for the best I guess

A two game road trip to DC in December:

We've got several quality D1 schools to choose from, most of whom could be a home&home.

Georgetown
Maryland
George Mason
George Washington
Mt. St. Mary's (we might be able to get 2 for 1 from them)
Towson

Ha. The uMBC coach was the interim coach at Charlotte. They didn't retain him and hired Mark Price who was just fired.

As my buddy Jay said " If you can't find 5 guys in Baltimore that can't play ball, you aren't doing your job".

RE: Remember Buffalo
In this era of college basketball there is an abundance of players. The trick is finding the right combination of players - players that fit "your" style. You have to have players that are comfortable enough to work through whatever is thrown at them and trust the system game to game. The problem with UAB this season was game-to-game-to-game consistency. We showed we can complete with anybody, but we did not show we could be consistent throughout the season or even for more than a few consecutive games.

I wish we would do this. There are a bunch of schools up in that area that would make great OOC opponents.

I would love to play some WCC schools as well. Sone really good ball out there. Gene used to regularly schedule a game or two out there.

Amen. The D2 scheduling needs to stop. The emphasis is on Quad 1 and 2 wins now (we finished with 1 this year). The only ways to get these wins are:

1) Play elite Thanksgiving tournaments (which despite the o-fers I am still a staunch supporter of)

2) Schedule Top 75 games at home
3) Schedule Top 140 road games

There is a tremendous opportunity for us with respect to #3 by doing home and homes with solid mid majors and going on the road against P5 teams. I’d rather get drilled at Syracuse than beat Mississippi College in front of 1,000 people.

Yeah, no reason not to go on the road. It's the only way to test our mettle and have a chance to prove ourselves against good teams. Even if we get drilled in the non conference next season, at least we can get our young guys prepped for the conference season. Nothing to lose.

RE: Remember Buffalo
Texas, Kansas. This is something we've done in the past few years. In order to survive financially as a program we have to have home games. Living on the road like a SWC program will not work. A couple of games against high majors on the road, a neutral tournament, and try to get some decent home and home games good mid majors is how we have to do it. Nothing else is smart or reasonable.

Last year, we scheduled Chattanooga a team that has been good in the past few years. They weren't last year. How was Ehsan to know that. We scheduled Memphis, a periennial good team. We had Auburn, which before the season, all the haters said would fall on the face and not be a good RPI opponent. They were wrong.

Scheduling is hit and miss. Stephen F Austin has been a good midmajor and are back in the tournament this year. The two years we played them they were down. When things go right, you are a scheduling genius. When they don't, you have idiots on message boards calling for your job.

Besides, middle Tennessee proves that it doesn't matter what a CUSA team does in the off season. If you are in a perceived one bid Conference, there are no at larges.

Except my season ticket fees. I don't have to pay them so I can tune in to Facebook.
