Choice B: Watching UAB games on Facebook.

I suspect, without bothering to run a poll, that choice B wins going away, particularly given that it is free. The tournament games I watched were fairly well produced. The announcing, in general, was somewhere between "sucks" and "bush league", so I think they need to address that, but "watching" and "free" tend to outweigh that. I did put it on mute during almost all timeouts and halftimes, which was helpful.

I live in the Huntsville Area. Try getting WAPI 1070 AM and their after dark 5000 watt transmitter, circa 1995. Any consistent audio or video stream is a blessing.

Has anyone said that the conference should have no streaming if they couldn't get on TV? No. Of course Facebook streaming is better than nothing. Ray Watts standing in the concession stand with a VHS camcorder mailing me a tape at the end of the night is better than nothing. That doesn't mean that Conference USA's deal isn't a joke, though.

The power down to 5000 watts is required by the FCC. You'll have to take it up with them.

Also, the transmitter was installed in 2006.

It's really quite shocking how many people can't see this.

I don’t think anybody is trying to argue it’s the greatest thing in the world. The argument is it’s better than the nothing we had before.

I don't recall saying that it was great, or even good. I said that being able to see the game (for free, at that) was better than not being able to. It's a simple binary choice.

I guess the comparison here is, would we rather get to see a few of our games on facebook, and the rest on CUSA.tv for $10 a month, or all of our games on the new ESPN + service for $5 a month like the sunbelt schools get too.

ESPN+ will also have an app you can easily download onto a Roku, Fire stick etc. Got to hook my laptop up to the big screen with hdmi cable to watch CUSA.

Yeah, CUSA video deal sucks bad.

Were we offered that deal? If it’s not something that was on the table than it’s just as dumb as asking if we’d rather be in the SEC or CUSA.

CUSA vs Sun Belt is an apples to apples comparison, two one-bid G5 conferences.
According to Matt, Sun Belt fans are getting a better deal. Their league isn't better so how does that happen? After watching the bush-league tournament, incompetence seems like a good guess.

Guess what? My 10 year old daughter and her friends are part of the next generation of recruits. Would you rather I post the numbers showing you that kids are abandoning Facebook for Instagram and other social networks, or are you just going to act like you didn't understand what I was saying?

Instagram is owned by FB anyways, and once kids start college they have to use FB because many groups are organized on FB. Btw, they all have FB accounts they are just not active users when they are young.

I’ve watched every facebook UAB game on my big screen. While it seems like the deal may suck, the video quality is good.

For not much more than the cost of an HDMI cable, you can buy a Google Chromecast device and send UAB video from Facebook to your bigscreen. I found the Facebook video quality quite good, actually.
