RE: Game Day: Niagara Falls in CIT
From what I've pieced together from official announcements and sports writers on Twitter:

CMU vs Wofford
Liberty vs Sam Houston
Drake vs Northern Colorado

Given the sometimes regional set up for the games, I'd bet UIC might be our next opponent. Again, just guessing via what I've seen on Twitter.

I agree Frank, I heard they were almost our first round opponent.

BTW, two thoughts:

1). If the team (obviously minus Bond) stays together we'll be tough next year. Like UB-tough. If there were split-season rankings, we're at least a NIT caliber team now and maybe better. I wish we could see rankings if the season started at the midway point of the MAC season.

2). Another good year and the NBA could come calling to Mr. Minnie.

Replying to my post: 04-chairshot

Any statistical rankings, etc which consider the entire season greatly hides where we are at today.

It is like a high school student. Get all B's and C's as a frosh and soph and then gets all A's and B's as a senior.

What would you make of that? Average all four years? Over weight the last year?

Or the student who was a good student undergrad but becomes a dean's list as a grad student.

Happens all the time... The light comes on...

Elijah Minnie is crazy good. 12-19 (5-9 from 3) for 29 points. Interestingly he did not shoot any free throws- I would have though the other team would get frustrated and foul him at some point.

Thompson had 20 points 16 rebounds and 4 blocks.

Crowd was reported at 1138. Which is a little low, but kind of typical for a weekday. So not bad for a short notice game.

I watched the highlights. Man, I do not understand why folks don't come out to watch this team: They win and play highlight hoops.

This is NOT a team which wins ugly.

Did anyone else get WatchCIT.com to work? All I got was a blank screen. Listened in on WEMU instead.

So I assume we won't know the next matchup until after today's game.

Meanwhile, how on earth did Drake draw 3,000 people to the Lou Henson Classic??

Liberty only drew 486 people for their CIT game. Wow, any second now I expect to see that negative piece on Liberty basketball on Deadspin.... (not really)

I'm surprised that the university didn't require the students to attend, like they did for when Ted Cruz announced his presidential candidacy.

All speaking events at Liberty require mandatory attendance from students. They have a weekly Friday-assembly, or something like that, that every student has to go to.

But yeah, it's often used for Cruz, Trump, and Jerry Falwell Jr's other Republican friends to come in and give a speech to a full room for TV.

I watched some, but eventually chose to listen to Bush League.

When Liberty University had just gone Division I, they were on our schedule. People were laughing about it, then they won the game.

They've had a diverse group of speakers, but never once rioted because someone with a different view was on campus.

RE: Game Day: Niagara Falls in CIT
Their students commonly voice their opposition to the speakers. Famously writing an op-ed in the Washington Post calling Trump "the antithesis of Christian values" (https://www.washingtonpost.com/opinions/...d5bd9cd2).

But it was Falwell who pulled a column from the student newspaper covering Trump's "grab them by the..." comments. Didn't want his buddy Donny's own words covered in the paper. One Liberty University board member was also forced to resign after making comments critical of Trump. Guess the administrators are the ones whose anti-free speech actions we should worry about.

I wasn't trying to throw Liberty under the bus. I have no problem with the school. Just mentioning that they conservative speakers do like to go there for the photo opp. They have had Bernie Sanders and other from across the spectrum speak, to their credit.

[Okay, no more politics from me, I promise]

Worked for me. But yes it took a little longer to load.

Chad Bush called it! Apparently, it was already being negotiated before the game. Hope we keep it rolling down there. I'd like to see us take one more home game if we win again.

Also, we have one common opponent: Central Michigan. They lost to the Chips by 11 in Alaska earlier this year.
