Watauga County likely has more snow removal equipment than the Fulton and surrounding counties combined. I try not to blame folks in those areas for the panic for that very reason. Still, that shutdown in Atl a few years ago when folks abandoned their cars on the interstate seems a bit dramatic.

That shutdown was due to all the metro area cities planning on above freezing temps, as it had rained the night before. So all that snow was sitting on a nice sheet of ice. I spent eight hours travelling about 7 miles, and eventually walked the last mile when I couldn't get my car up an icy hill. That was the biggest cluster**** I'll probably ever see in my life.

My brother said that the roads were so gridlocked that people were just leaving their cars in the middle of the interstate and walking to the exits. He and his wife had the spend the night in a Hardee's.
