NCAA Tourney Banter
Hi all-
Few of us were already conversing about seeding, who got in, who didn't. Figured i'd start a thread for us to discuss as the tourney progresses.

I'll start, Cuse and OK getting in is a joke!

Yep. I'm not sure how Syracuse managed to get in but OK getting in is a travesty. The only reason for that is so the NCAA can use Young a little more before he jets out for the NBA. Absolutely shameful.

Hell, you all know besides UNCW, Cuse is my allegiance, and IMO they had no business getting in.
Oklahoma lost 9 of it's last 12 games and got in, that's unheard of!

USC... finished 2nd in the PAC12 reg season, and lost in their championship game. Not in the field.

That's the NCAA issuing a punishment "before the official punishment" for the ongoing FBI scandal.

If that was the case, shouldn't state AZ and others have been punished?

RE: NCAA Tourney Banter
Eh I am not up in arms about oklahoma getting in. The fact was they built their resume strong enough that despite sucking late, it was enough. That is the benefit of playing a strong schedule especially in the non conference. Few do it, I am sure the Sooners are real glad they actually did, same with Arizona State.

We all know why Syracuse got in. Money and one last ride for Boeheim. They even gave his team as favorable a set up as possible to let them try to go on a run.

USC and Notre Dame have the biggest gripes to me. I really didnt think USC was even that close to the bubble, so to see them out was surprising.

Is it just me or does it not appear like there will be many fireworks in this tournament? I just do not see that many potential upsets and very few to make a big run. There are a couple but it is not many. But with that said...

I thought the way the bracket fell was very positive for the CAA. I think CofC has a reasonable chance at a sweet 16 or farther. They are capable of beating this Auburn team, especially without their shot blocker. Then they get a game against either Clemson or NMSU both who are defense first play slower type of teams. That style gives CofC a good chance. I think Kansas falls to NC State/Seton Hall (probably NC State)

Moment of silence for Northeastern, the highest ranked team to not get an invite to either of the 2 official tournaments.

Did anyone honestly think they had a chance at the NCAA? C’mon y’all. And 82 is right... they don’t even put enough of their own fans in their own seats to get looked at for the NIT.

No, i didn't but i thought NIT for sure. IF on the road, at a team that has a good following it wouldn't matter.

No, I disagree. What would happen if they won and somehow are the highest seed then the NIT is left with a game MAYBE 1,000 show up to. Disaster.

You seed them near the bottom, then it's almost impossible for that to happen.

If you had them as the last seed in their bracket, it would be impossible. They would be the lower seed all the way until it his neutral court.

NIT is an official NCAA tournament and therefore should not be handing out at large berths on attendance numbers.

If you think the NCAA committee is unfair to mid majors take a look at the NIT. No way BC deserves #5 NIT seed over NE.

Yeah, I suppose but still most of this falls on the Conference commish and his office.

Did CoC get an NIT bid last year? I can’t remember.

Thanks. I do agree the NU got jobbed. I just don’t think it’s surprising it happened. Given the NCAA’s affinity to screwing Mids and our conference’s affinity for laying down and taking it.

Honestly in hindsight, I think Coach Keatts scheduling was smart. 1, maybe 2, marquee non conference games and then a bunch of scrubs you can crush. The committee is not going to reward a mid major so pad your win total.
