Pittsburgh dismisses coach Kevin Stallings after two seasons
Why not take a stab at Purdue Matt Painter?

Shaka Smart seems to want out of Texas as well.

It looks like Dan Hurley is going to UConn.

How would Pitt fans feel about Buffalo's Nate Oats?

Rumors are that we are talking to Oats, Schmidt, and Hopkins.

Other rumors is that the university's general council killed talks with Sean Miller. Don't know how true that is, but a lot of people with supposed inside knowledge had Pitt working on contract details with him up until this past weekend, although Hurley was always a first priority. No one is really surprised we whiffed on Hurley once UConn got involved. Our program is a mess and he wanted to stay in his home region.

Schmidt would be like what Beilein is to the Big Ten. He can flat out coach, and with next-level talent...yikes.

Hopkins won't leave Washington for Pitt.

We shall see what happens. The last few coaching searches has been clusterf*cks with Pitt.

Jon Scheyer to Pitt? He's a good man but I'm having a hard time believing he's ready. I would have thought Pitt would have been able to get an experienced candidate.

Not true. There's been no offer. Lots of fake stuff out there.

Maybe no offer yet but this is more than a rumor.

Actually, at this point, it is absolutely confirmed fake news that Pitt has offered or even formally interviewed Scheyer. If you knew the track record of the person writing that, you know how much a pile of munch everything he puts out there is. He's just parrots twitter garbage. There's been a lot of fake and bad info out there. A lot agents name-dropping for extensions and a lot of Dude-like throwing crap at the wall hoping something sticks.

Whether there is or will be any serious discussion with Scheyer cannot supported by what shows up on that website.

Take a shot a Huggybear, see if he wants out of Morgantown? Sticking it to a rival would be a bonus.

Or Cronin out of Cincy?

"Absolutely confirmed" as "fake news" by whom?

A day after @PghSportsNow told you he was a serious candidate, @Pitt_LykeAD is reportedly interviewing Duke assistant Jon Scheyer. Here’s our story from last night http://pittsburghsportsnow.com/2018/03/2...-pitt-job/

What did I tell you about trusting that source? He is contradicting what he reported earlier, that there was already an offer. The Pitt hoops beat writer for the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette confirmed that was false, as did the Pitt hoops writer for rivals.com.

Gary Parish and Devil's Den are now both stating that he is not a candidate.

St. Bonaventure’s Mark Schmidt and Buffalo’s Nate Oats are both out of Pittsburgh search, sources told ESPN. Looks like the Panthers are closing in on another candidate.

The Duke Assistant Coach part of the rumor was right; it was just a different Duke Assistant Coach.

Pitt's getting a great guy. They should be extremely happy.

Big difference in the assistant coach. Yes, I think Pitt is pretty happy considering how bad our program imploded the past two seasons.

Congrats to Pitt. I don't think you can say this will be a sure-fire successful marriage, but this is a much better get for Pitt than I was expecting based on the last few seasons and how the search had progressed up to this point.

Don't believe everything you've read on blogs and twitter about the search.

No doubt, at minimum, this is an upgrade from being hoodwinked by an interloping AD into hiring Stallings.
