RE: Best Visitor Experience
Have been to three Sun Belt locations.

Several times to GS, have had good times, and crappy times. Just depends which way you enter the stadium and what the scoreboard says afterwards.

Georgia State: Once, it was in the dome, and nobody said a word good or bad to me. They knew they were getting throttled, and we were there to have a good time and watch it happen.

Troy: Once, nobody said a word good or bad to me. Everyone there knew it was a huge game, and were ready for the matchup.

RE: Best Visitor Experience
I was at the App at GaSt FB game this past fall. I got some cheap tickets from the GaSt website and started the game in the upper section. Thin crowd, but the few GaSt fans were very nice and welcoming. One made a comment that they welcomed the crowd we brought.

I moved down to the App sections at the end of the 1st quarter after wondering around a bit. Nice stadium that will be very nice when all the final touches are in place.

RE: Best Visitor Experience
Within the Sun Belt I've been to App State, GA State, South Alabama and Texas State.

App State has a great gameday experience but, like Georgia Southern, has many 'spirited' fans who can be both good and bad. Texas State had very welcoming fans.

Friendliest fans within all of division one? The University of Arkansas...probably because they have low expectations.

RE: Best Visitor Experience
This is the list for places I have been.

For as Sunbelt - Troy(need it back on Saturday), Ga State(Georgia Dome), Lafayette, Monroe. One day I want to see Georgia Southern and App State.
Non Sunbelt - Tulane - back when it was still at Superdome and we outnumbered their fans, NC State, Miss State, South Carolina

The NC State was our first big OOC game, I think we in our 3rd season and we hung around them for a good bit. Drove there and back didn't check out the town, was up like 24 hours straight

Place I wanted to see was LSU(they canceled), figuring it would have been easier wear Jag gear vs Bama gear.

I’m really excited to play Clemson. Besides what my Gamecock fiancé says, I’ve only heard good things about game day at Clemson.

RE: Best Visitor Experience
I’ve only been to one SBC away game: Troy, in 2016. Went to a local Downtown bar the night before, pretty dead. They were having a dart tournament. Dead night life after the game too, ended up at Applebee’s by recommendation. Might have been 10 people there. I don’t think a single Troy fan spoke to us and we tailgated on campus. No Hassle = Happy Guy.
Been to many games at both UGA and GT. Grew up a Dawg fan but they’re obnoxious and you have to walk a mile to get anywhere. GT has very friendly fans. Was always given drinks and food and a ticket when I showed up.
Clemson was great arriving and a blur leaving. No grief from fans though.
Vanderbilt is pretty cool too. Like Tech, they’re just glad to have extra butts in the seats. No issues whatsoever.
Really hoping to get to Lafayette this year.

RE: Best Visitor Experience
Michigan - Unbelievably welcoming and very gracious after what transpired that day. Great facility and great college town.
UGA - Good fans, a little too cocky and they stuck us App fans in the worst seats in the house...couldn't even see the big board. Nice facility, great campus and excellent tailgating. Athens to top notch.
Tennessee - Surprisingly welcoming fans and a top notch football experience. Great tailgating...river is too cool!
GS - Rabid fans and great football and tailgating atmosphere. Not fun when you lose. Close proximity to HHI and SI make for a good long weekend golf getaway. Been there numerous times over the years and still haven't seen Statesboro. Every program needs a rival and I'm glad App and GS landed in the Belt together.
GSU - My adopted home town and eventually this will be a top notch facility and sports complex. Both their past and present football facilities are too big for the current fan base but they will get there.
Troy - THEY HAVE BEER! Excellent facility and good fans. Our ATL group scored 8 free tickets from a Troy Alum on our first visit. Always special as that was App's first Belt victory. Able to park and tailgate at a church lot very close to the stadium.
USA - Was at Ladd field for the Toledo Beat Down this December; nice historic facility and there were a good number of USA fans sitting around us pulling for Belt mate App State during the game. Great fans in my book! Love Mobile!
Wake Forrest - It's been a while but App usually filled up about 40-50% of their stadium for games and App won there a number of times. Okay stadium but not located directly on campus. Wine and cheese WF crowd but good tailgating.
South Carolina - Excellent facility and pretty intense fan base. App won there in 1975 when I was a student and we did have a little run in with the locals after the game. Would love to play them again.
LSU - Great football facility and pretty great tailgate scene. Actually got dragged into a couple of tailgates and the fans actually wanted to know more about App. They beat App both times so fans were very friendly afterwards. I think the opposite would have been true had there been an upset. Great to have bloody marys at 7AM tailgate though! I actually enjoyed the "Tiger Bait" catcalls when walking thru campus.
Clemson - Great friendly fans and a top notch atmosphere and tailgate. Hope App wins there at some point as I've been there twice for defeats.
ECU - Hot as HELL in early September. Crazy fan base and excellent football game day experience (except did I mention the heat). Side trip to the Outer Banks is advised.

Hope to make it to more Belt facilities over the next few years. CCU is on for this year for sure.

Hey GAST fans, does the new stadium still sell beer or was that a Ga Dome thing?

We have beer. And if we’re lucky, brew pub across the street by fall.

The people yes, the facilities however need a lot of work. Right now the stadium is a 50 footer. Looks great from far, but far from good once you get up close. Video board missing lots of pixels. Not enough concession stands or open entrances. They may have underestimated the number of fans given the holiday weekend.

The bones are great, and I know they didn't have much time to address the cosmetics due to timing, but a little TLC and throwing some money at the stadium and it'll be a great place to visit.

There are certainly some rought spots to be worked on and even from the visitor seats one could tell some of the club seats had not been touched it seemed since the ownership change to the stadium. The area I was in for the one quarter was looking good, then again I don't usually get in those sections to compare. I was in the mezzanine area or whatever that middle section part is called that is not club seats proper.

Still sells beer. 24 oz. Sweetwater and Terrapin ~ $7. Domestics ~$6 iirc.

Of the six FBS stadiums that I have seen games, I'd have to say my best visitor experience was at Virginia Tech. We were treated great by their fans the night before the game, during tailgating, and on our way to and from the stadium. They were nothing but class the whole time.

RE: Best Visitor Experience
Best Sunbelt road game for me was App State, beautiful town and I got invited to a few App tailgates where we bonded over our mutual hatred of GS.

Best non-conference road game was Wisconsin by far. Madison is a wonderful town and a night out on State St makes for a good time. Also nice to get an opportunity to stuff my face with anything from New Glarus. The fans were great and we actually made a game of it.
