maybe the fact that he's playing on the worst team in the league has something to do with it

Well good thing this is an individual award and not based on team results. No reason why the best scorer in the league is not 1st team. There’s plenty of examples of good players on bad teams being placed on all whatever lists.

I could argue German over Thomas Wilder based on this year's performances alone, but the thing with postseason awards is they become kind of like a lifetime achievement award. Juniors and Seniors are always going to win out

See Ty Kent. It happens. Dudes that shoot a ton and get points but don't do anything else don't always get first team

German is a gifted driver who can score at the rim with difficulty. Fun player to watch. Tough guy to guard. Overall: defense, passing, jump shooting, leadership probably not a 1st teamer, imo

How about because Guys like Perkins and Harris had to compete for points with Massinburg and Clark... There is a "down side" to having a deep team if you consider awards to be only a reflection of conference stat rankings.

Might not be the best passer but most of the time he had no one to pass to that was likely to score. Seems like our highest percentage play was German driving to the bucket against 3 defenders. Sad, but true.

We are a "meh" team and no one really stood out. We have 4 guys who contribute nicely but no one who truly sticks out as an All-MAC players. However, Cecil Williams had a pretty nice season and I was surprised to see him left off honorable mention.

15.2/6.3/2.6/1.1/1.1

He contributes everywhere, but isn't elite anywhere.

I would replace Walker with Zabo, if I were picking the most consistently productive KSU player.

Having watched him implode against Ringo in the Miami game, to me it seems a joke that he could make second team and Ringo is only on the third team. Actually, Ringo also shut down Persons in their head to head matchup. He has had a season in which he finished in the top 5 all time in the MAC in both steals and assists, but he is only averaging 9.5ppg ( does not usually shoot very much) and I think many voters look first at ppg.

Wow, I figured Teyvion Kirk had Freshman of the Year locked up. Sibande had a hell of a season, though.
