RE: 2018 CAA Tourament
Trying to stay positive about the NIT but a bunch of regular season conference winners are losing in their tournaments.

Yes I doubt we'll get a place in the NIT. Not that we aren't deserving, but it's about $$ for them and they'll get it with power conferences. Mid-majors pretty much never get at-large NIT invites unless they were snubbed by the NCAA's.

But that's okay. I'd like to play in one of the other tournaments I think, see what we can do. We played the best basketball all season for 2 games and 25 mintues. 15 minutes of disaster shouldn't derail our program. There's a lot to look forward to next year, and also probably something this year.

RE: 2018 CAA Tourament
I was hoping for a replay of last year where C of C finished a game behind UNCW (they didn't tie for first) and lost to them in the tourney and got an at large bid with a higher RPI then we now have.

CofC didn’t get in the tournament last year.

RE: 2018 CAA Tourament
I think NUGuy was referring to the NIT.

Right now we are a bubble NIT team based on projections. Bracket Matrix has us as the last at-large team in, while NYC buckets has us as the 2nd team out.

If I had to guess, we'll be left out. RPI doesn't mean much for the selection committee. I think one thing going for us though is that we were Co-Champs in the regular season, and lost the title game in overtime. Can't get closer than that to an auto-bid.

Yes,I was.

And there's another one where we are a seven seed. These guys are just guessing. It's the selection committee that counts. Another negative for us is that we don't exactly travel well...although C of C was sent out to Colorado last year and nobody expected them to have a crowd follow them out there. Not willing to give up hope yet.

I don’t think road travel matters when’s it comes to the NIT.

Bottom line, we have a 50-50 chance.

After the loss, we started hearing about a possible NU-BC NIT matchup.

Too many auto bids. Mtsu losing yesterday hurt too. Deserving team but NU needs a lot of luck for NIT. I'd say realistically it's 75/25 out

Vermont and Nevada’s failures to win their conference tourneys are a severe blow to our NIT at-large chances I’m afraid...

Was shocked by the Vermont loss. That really hurts our chances.

The Nevada loss doesn't really matter since they will be in the NCAA's anyway. Was hoping Boise State would win the Mountain West though since they are an at-large NIT. Wasn't to be though.

A bunch of schools have said that they have no interest in the two other minor tournaments. Would we go?

From what I heard it’s the NIT or bust.
