RE: Chris Cokley and William Lee appreciation & WKU game thread
I have been pretty disgusted and a few times even publicly critical of this team. But let me say how happy I have been to watch this team play so well the past two games. That team the second half on Thursday against Marshall, and the whole game tonight, did not look like the same team from just a week ago at MTSU (or several other games down the stretch).
I think that's what has frustrated us the most, knowing how good we CAN be, but how poorly we have often played. Nothing is more disappointing and frustrating than unfulfilled potential. The core of this team won 26 games two years ago, and a conference regular season championship, and you add a couple of years experience (plus a shooter like Nate and one of the most exciting players we have EVER had in Scootie), and you would expect us to be even better. But we have underachieved again and again, while occasionally showing flashes of what might have been.
Well, let's hope we have put that behind us and we are coming together at just the right time. There's a new excitement about next week's tournament. Go Blazers!

Despite the offensive explosion over the last 2 games, the defense has been the key...

Excellent win. Can't believe the turn around from last week. It was the worst game I've ever seen us play in 15 years. To come back from that and blow out two good teams at home is impressive. Hopefully it carries over to the conference tourney. We'll see. Won't hold my breath with the up and down results and not being able to win on the road/beat anyone good (outside the last two games).

Really a fun week of basketball. The lob to Cokely off the backboard for the dunk was one of the best single plays I've seen at Bartow. Hopefully this momentumand level of play carries over to frisco

Obviously there have been some necessary adjustments relating to team play made by Coach Ehsan which have greatly improved productivity and efficiency on both ends of the court, as of late. These factors may very well carry over into Conference Tournament play. This team has fortitude. They have three days to rest.

The reduction in open three-point looks is welcome. I noticed that we switched screens more often than usual too. Norton got stuck guarding the opposing big in the post a few times, but that's still better than an open three.
