Exclamation Toughest Parts of Your Schedule
Sep. 1 Boise State
Sep. 8 Florida A&M
Sep. 15 @ Nebraska
Sep. 22 @ ULM
Sep.29 Coastal Carolina
Oct. 4 Georgia State (ESPNU)
Oct. 13 @ Liberty
Oct. 23 @ South Alabama (ESPN2)
Nov. 3. Louisiana
Nov. 10 @ Georgia Southern
Nov. 17 Texas State
Nov. 24 @ Appalachian State
Dec. 1 Sun Belt Championship Game

I think this is ridiculously tough schedule for Troy. There are no gimmies on the schedule this year at all outside of FAMU, and maybe Texas State. The ULM-Coastal-GSU stretch is rough because ULM and GSU in their second years will be improved and they were already good. Coastal is actually a very good program when Moglia is running it. Those three teams will be deceptively hard to beat. Then we go into a stretch of 3 road games in 4. Three of those 4 have new coaches and will tough to prepare for. @South being a rivalry game makes it even crazier. @GeorgiaSouthern presents a triple option problem we don't enjoy dealing with. The final game with APP is in Boone. All of our toughest games are on the road.

Honestly I'm seeing 8-4 or 7-5 with everyone we have to replace and this schedule. If Neal Brown pulls out a championship or 10 wins, go ahead and crown him king of all mankind.

I hope I'm wrong but I'm pretty sure we are going to lose to Boise. If our team at the end of the year had played Boise they would have won but I don't see this happening with a new QB and being the first game.

RE: Toughest Parts of Your Schedule
October 20th @ NMSU - NMSU may not be all that great this year, but it's not an easy trip
Oct 25th App State
November 3rd @ ULM - Dark horse of the Sun Belt West, Not looking forward to playing the team with Caleb Evans and Marcus Green
November 10th Troy

LAst two games on the road against Georgia State and Coastal, two teams that should both be better this year.

I think an upset at Nebraska is more likely than a win vs Boise at home.

For App, I see the October stretch as the most difficult with road games at Ark St, Georgia Southern, and Coastal and our final November tilt against Troy at home.04-cheers

Sept. 8 at Southern Miss
Sept. 15 at Texas A&M
Sept. 22 TROY
Sept. 29 at Georgia State
Oct. 6 at Ole Miss
Oct. 13 at Coastal Carolina

I would say this 6 game stretche isn’t ideal. Lol It’s not so much the opponents but being on road 5 of 6 weeks. 3 games were already scheduled.

ULM has 1 home and 2 away of SB games. Don’t blame the SB office for having three away games OOC. I assume two of those are to pay the bills, but why not schedule something in that week as a home game. I most likely answered my own question, but don’t blame the SB office for that.

Its a tongue in cheek comment. I’m not blaming the SBC sorry I don’t put LOL or whatever.. I even said 3 of those games were already scheduled. Obviously the SBC has a lot to schedule around. My main gripe is we’re playing Cajuns Saturday after Thanksgiving. I’d rather play them earlier in the year especially if we’re at home.

Fair enough. I didn't get the LOL that you meant. I almost edited my post before I sent it but didn't. I am still not, because I am on a phone and typing is next to impossible. And also though a bit harsh my point still stands.

I said 3 games were already scheduled. That’s saying I get it’s not the SBC fault. I’m saying the SBC has to work around our 3 schedules games that were already scheduled. I did that for a reason. I didn’t expect anyone to take it serious. If you want to be harsh and be an A Hole go for it. What is typical is backhanded apologies. I almost edited my post? Typing on my phone is next to impossible ? I have big fingers and edit stuff all the time. Are you on a flip phone? (I edited this last part Dee it’s not that hard)Thanks for “almost editing” your post. We play two P5 games year. It’s better than 3 we use to play or 5 when we first moved up.. I like our scheduled team wise. I wish it was better situated with Home games spread out better. It’s not oh well we’ll come and play regardless like we always do. We play FCS Southeastern Louisiana , Regional G5 USM which we had a home and home, and regional P5 games (Ole Piss / TAMU). I wasn’t good enough to be on the field at TAMU as a Texan but I’ll be on sideline this season for our game. Lol
It’s a better scheduled when I played when played 3 top 3 teams in one year and played 4 home games sometimes during the Indy years.

Since this will be a minor rebuilding year for the Trojans, I would be ok with a 9-3, even 8-4 type of season (ok let's say 9-3) and an upset over either Nebraska or Boise St. Could also mean that Coach Brown would pobably stay for at least another year (actually I would prefer a 9-3 season over a 12-0 season (this year) because of this, this would help us in the long run).
The 2019 season could be the best season ever for Troy, with so many guys returning at key positions and OL, and the favorable schedule and we really need our current coaches to stay at Troy for at least another two years...

ULM puts themselves in this situation every year because they insist on playing 2 money games. You can spread them out however you like in OOC play, but odds are the SBC is never going to schedule kindly when you are the only one's playing 2 money games yearly.
