I think this is a pivot year. I really do. Don't be surprised if one of the big three don't win the title. ULM and GSU in their second year with their staffs, and USA, ULL, GS, CS with different head coaches this year, there is a lot of new things to account for.

Troy and APP are replacing a lot of senior talent and leadership. ARKST is really the only one of the big three that brings back the core of their team.

And AState is in bad shape at corner and nickel.

Conference record comes before overall record. Our 8-0 Conference record won't be able to be topped unless we face Troy in the title game...

You need to brush up on the new Championship format. CFB Playoff rankings determine the host site of the SBC Championship game. OOC performance and even SOS will come into play.

The understanding I have is that the CFP rankings will only come into play if two teams finish with the same league record.

I could be wrong, but that is based off what I was told.

We do have a shot at any game we play...a shot. That said we’ve picked up a few JUCO DL and DBs to give us some depth on defense. Hopefully that gets us to average to above average. Offense will be virtually the same, maybe a tad better and a little more polished and consistent. We’re excited about the potential but the SBC is getting better across the board. Should be an interesting season.
