The Miners won their fourth game in a row and fifth out of the last six to bring their record to 5 wins 2 losses for the year. UTEP went into Ruston LA to defeat Louisiana Tech, previously unbeaten in conference, at their homecoming game. Ryan Moats, one of the better running backs in the country, was held to 99 yards in 21 carries after averaging 149 yards per game up to this point of the season. Howard Jackson, the Miners tailback, had 121 yards also for 21 carries. At this time, UTEP is on track for having the best turnaround of any team in D1 ball. We've already played the top four teams in the conference, defeating three of them and losing a close game to Boise State. The remainder of the schedule looks promising to run the table and end the year with a 9 win 2 loss record which should earn the Miners a bowl berth. Looking forward to moving to C-USA next year and it would be especially nice to do so as reigning WAC champions (if someone can knock off Boise State). GO MINERS! :) [COLOR=orange]
