Do they usually put those online anywhere? I'd love to hear it

Hoard usually puts great play calls on Soundcloud. Maybe he'll put it on. WLW should replay it sometime. Maybe Egger will put it on his WLW or 1530 page.

Seemed at or near capacity to me. Thank god that's over. Back to where we belong.

Like I said many games ago, our 3pt defense is not good. We rely on teams not hitting a high percentage of open looks from deep to prop up the rest of our D.

Scott gets a lot of undeserved hate. He's good defensivively, excellent at rebounding and consistently high energy. He is bad offesively, but for a Sophomore big that's not uncommon (even Clark wasn't that good offsensively as a Sophomore).

you need a player like him for these teams that spread you out. he can defend outside and inside. even if his offensive game never comes around, the role he fills on defense is very valuable.

I think you're going to see quite a bit of Scott the remainder of the season. He may actually be better defensively than Clark and that is saying something. He's out rebounded Clark and Washington the past two games off the bench. He appears to be gaining some confidence. Brooks on the other hand is a mess mentally out there. He's intimidated on the offensive end and he's the biggest guy on the court. He has to quit thinking and just play. I think you will see a lot of Scott at Wichita. Have to keep their big guys in check.

I think that is just typical of announcers who don't know the team. They assume any bigs can't shoot 3's.

Gillen has done enough of our games to know better imo. Do they not have a screen or stat sheet in front of them that shows percentages?

thats just an awful assumption in todays game. they shouldn't think that for any game they announce.

Yeah, Scott played the crunch times minutes today. I have hope that he will develop a shot next year, but even if he doesn't he will be a solid contributer. Rebounding and defense are just as important as the ability to put the ball in the hoop.

All of our C's are a mess right now honestly. Washington has regressed on D the last few games, Brooks and Diarra haven't had enough playing time to be comfortable. Seemed like it was a constant cycle: Washington comes in, gets beat and gets pulled, Brooks comes in, gets beat and gets pulled, Washington comes in etc... Eventually Cronin went small with Clark/Scott and that seemed to level things out.

Hoping Washington can turn it on come tourney time.

I think his 16/29 for the conference leads the conference for anyone over 25 attempts?

RE: Tulsa Golden Hurricane vs. Cincinnati Bearcats Game Thread
Dan Hoard interviewed Gary Clark post-game.
That young man is a special Bearcat. He talked about what his mom means to him...he's a momma's boy.
He talked about how this was the firs game his dad has been able to see in person.
He was thanking the University and the fans for the opportunity to play here and you could tell he teared up because Dan cut in.
I don't think he's ready for his career to end (maybe no college player really is) and I know I'm not ready to say goodbye just yet.
Hoping we get 11 more games with Gary "The Problem" Clark.

Thanks for the link. Great interview with The Problem. Also, a great interview with Mick. He's asked Terry Nelson to help round up some of the 92 FF players to speak to the team this week about team accountability, what it takes to win when it counts, etc.

I know this is a small sample size but two players are stepping up in how they contribute off the bench over the past couple of games. I hope this trend continues as we need more players able to provide a spark and spell guys down the stretch of this crucial part of the season. Tre Scott has caught fire with energy on Dee and rebounding and Cane Broome has been a consistent scorer and playing a tad better on Dee as well.

Last 2 games total boards:
16 Scott
7 Clark
7 Washington

Broome's last 3 game totals:
44 points
9 Assists

I still don't agree with you, but it was bad tonight. I think teams have mostly had to take difficult threes. Even the open ones haven't been open for very long. The windows close quickly. Today UC seemed to be completely lost with their communication on screens and repeatedly left guys wide open in the first half. I've never seen it like that. 2 guys would follow the same guy and one other guy would be open.

Watching UC get caught on screens and then get mixed up double covering one guy while leaving an open shooter who would drain a 3 we were wondering if straight up man D might've been a better option so there was no confusion with the switching. It was very frustrating to watch...Tulsa's shooting was almost automatic with the open 3 in the first half.

I am not sure what happens, but our D really never seems to look good against better offensive teams. Someone else may be able to break it down better than I can, but we always seem to get a lot of mismatches and guys chasing after three point shooters that are already set with the ball going in the air. What exactly is the name of the defense that coach Mick runs? Is it called a switching man to man? Is this supposed to be similar to be like a hybrid between a M2M and a match up zone? I wouldnt mind seeing more regular zone looks mixed with traditional m2m, I think our guys are getting lost against teams that can pass well.
