It seemed like you were sayin fans knew we would have major growing pains with Ehsan. That isn’t true. Most fans pulling for Ehsan thought he would pick up where Haase left off. Realistic or not, that’s what we thought.

That's just idiotic then. He had never been a head coach. Neither had Haase, and it took Haase a couple of years to get going. Matter of fact, most idiots on this board were calling for his head right up until we beat Iowa State.

Yep. Anybody who thought there would be no growing pains with a brand new head coach wasn’t thinking clearly.

I think a lot of people thought that way.

I'm pretty sure we could take nearly any high school basketball coach, put him or her on the bench, and they could get the same record with this team against this schedule.

THAT...

The Ehsan apologists are simply whistling as they stroll past the graveyard at night...let the same dullards who cried, "Keep the team together" and now cry "Give him until year 3 or 4" get their way...at that point this years team will be remembered as the good ole days

One of the Top Two...

Loyalty to the PROGRAM...not individuals

I hope I'm number one.

Just because someone refuses to pile on, a wasted exercise, since he will not be fired after this season, does not make you loyal to an individual.

The coach is a part of the team.

And I said before, we couldn't hire Forbes at the time because he was never a show cause. East Tennessee got him after his show cause expired, after we hired Ehsan.

He would have been my choice too, if he had been hireable.

This crap about he being interested is just that crap. He was never mentioned at the time because he was under a show cause.

Blazertalk is drying up bc the program is struggling mightily. Look at our attendance the past two years. A few people may get mad that they are called out on blazertalk, but much of it just has to do with how bad the program is doing and the subsequent apathy of the fan base.

Less people care and will post about a struggling program with no vision in a bad conference.

Blazertalk isn't just basketball. This is the most exciting period in football in the history of UAB. Alot of people, myself included, get tired of reading the back and forth between two posters that is just name calling or chest thumping. We all care mightily for all things UAB and we should support each other as the other fans are all we have in most cases. We shouldn't treat each other or each other's opinions as the enemy since we are all supporting the same team.

The basketball program is struggling and still over .500. Some teams would like for that.

The football program is as good as it has ever been and only appears to be getting better. We have some really nice pieces coming in for basketball next year, and i assume we will add a few more.

Our fan base on this message board is atrocious at times. The meltdown after our bowl game after probably our most successful season in history was laughable.

RE: MTSU THREAD
My judgment of Ehsan is based only on the reason he was hired.

The primary purpose of his hiring was to maximize the existing roster to continue momentum.

It wasn't because we thought he'd be a great coach in 5 years...it wasn't because he was in demand somewhere else and we didn't want to lose him...

It was because we wanted to keep the gang together so we could keep winning in the immediate future.

He failed.

As I've said before...we are now in Plan B with Ehsan. Plan A has been a disaster.

I agree completely that plan A hasn’t worked out as everybody thought it would.(for a variety of reasons). At the time of his hiring I said the boosters and supporters better be right, because this one isn’t getting pinned on Ingram.

I don’t think Ehsan is as bad a coach as some like to believe, but he definitely isn’t an all-time great. Next year is going to tell us all we need to know about him. I hope his recruits all succeed and i hope the guys we currently have coming back make great strides in the offseason. If not, i think we let Ehsan go because we can’t have him there as a lame duck his final season.
