RE: 2019 Football
So, 61 people and the players’ families understand the strength of the home football schedule?

That’s it?

Sounds about right.

RE: 2019 Football
Don't recall us ever having a transfer out of our football program. Hate seeing us lose Muse.

If this is accurate, it's strange timing. He starts for us, so it's not playing time. Unless some FBS program promised him something (he'd have to sit a year) or he feels he'll be underutilized it our new system, this makes little sense. Great player.

He's now following UNC staff, as well as, Mangas at LSU.

Are there new transfer rules for football like the ones in basketball?

Isn’t it true that Marion’s Go Go offense doesn’t feature a TE? If so, wouldn’t surprise me if he felt he’d be underutilized.

He’s good enough to play FBS so wouldn’t surprise me to see him there.

Sucks to lose him for sure.

Yes. Same transfer portal went into effect last fall for football, also. Once a school is informed by the player, they have 2 business days to put their name in the portal, allowing other schools to contact. Assume he couldn't have any visible contact from UNC or LSU staff unless he was in the portal. Also, it doesn't mean a player will not remain at his original school. 247 does not list him, yet, but their database may only be FBS schools.
https://247sports.com/Season/2019-Footba...ferPortal/

I had voiced concern previously as to hoping Marion was adjusting his offense to Muse, since he was too talented to not take advantage of. This may have nothing to do with his utilization, though, and simply about using the portal to explore opportunities to play P5 ball. Or, it could be both. Sorry, but this portal sucks. On the otherhand, I can understand a player's dilemma when there is a coaching staff and scheme change.

The portal sucks for schools. It's great for players. It may or may not lead to players having better college experiences, but it certainly gives them more control over their lives.

Mario was his position coach here and Muse is from NC. That's a wrap.

RE: 2019 Football
If Nick is actually leaving it will have nothing to do with the new offense. Only an idiot would install a scheme that did not utilize Nick Muse to the greatest extent possible, and Brennan Marion is no idiot. As I posted earlier, if you watched the spring game you saw our TEs on the field a lot and lined up in multiple spots, frequently with two on the field together.

If he were to end up at UNC, or anywhere else, I can promise you they will have him on the field in multiple spots making plays just as he would here. Nick is an NFL talent with a very bright future.

What information backs up the assertion that Muse is about to transfer?

Wonder if Clemson is a possibility with his brother being there.

So I thought that Mike London was supposed to be such a great recruiter? The Tribe can send offers to literally thousands of high school kids but can't even retain our top receiver?

Out of an ~80 person roster, one player transferred out, that's an incredibly low rate. We've also added three or four grad transfers to boot, and had a very strong signing day.

I think it speaks more to our previous staff's ability to recruit P5 and pro level talent. I don't think this has a thing to do with our current staff.

I repeat, how does anyone know for certain he's transferring? It's speculation unless you've spoken to Muse,
seen a social media announcement from him, or spoken to the coaching staff.

You proclaim a lot and don't back it up with sources. No one is going to drop a nugget and tell us they spoke with Muse or any other source. It's okay, you didn't get the scoop this time but keep your ear to the grindstone and things will turn around.

Muse still has WM in his Twitter bio, but does not have it in his Instagram bio, but I’m not sure he ever had it there.
