RE: Struggling Blazers Face a Capable Southern Miss Team Saturday in Hattiesburg
Something tells me we should be the ones shuffling the line up a bit, maybe turn the teams game up a notch and start Perry instead of Norton and send Norton into the game after the first four minutes of the game. Reason being, the opposing team knows pretty much what to expect when Norton starts at point guard. He is fairly easy for opposing teams to scout. Perry, on the other hand, is taller, larger, more athletic, and substantially harder for the opposing team to scout. They would not be exactly sure of what to expect. Perry can take it to the rack. He is kind of like Bryant, in that he is capable of playing with high energy and is a half a step quicker than many opposing guards. We also know that Bryant and Perry both are, no doubt in my mind, a half a step quicker than Norton. I'm not picking on Norton, I'm just saying that he may be a bit better suited as to come in as sixth man, fresh off of the bench after the first four minutes of the game. Bryant or Perry could do the point guard thing, either one of them. Who cares who gets the ball past half court. Something needs to be done to stimulate our team in the first ten minutes of the game. Ray Mears always said that a team's first ten offensive possessions of a game and last ten offensive possessions of the game were the most important offensive possessions of all. Most of you don't even know who Ray Mears was.

Here is a link to Ray Mears overall record at Tennessee against Adolph Rupp and Kentucky. He found a way to win, no matter how much better the opposing team was. Brains over brawn.

How about hitting open looks? We are getting good shots. Hell we are missing dunks.

It does not matter who the coach is and or who you are playing, if you can't make shots its a simple scenario you won't when many games if any at all. And it is seems as of late the blazers can't hit the dark side of the moon
