RE: Pre-Spring Ball/Spring Ball FB Thread
I'm not worried about LB and DB, how are the JUCOs looking on the DL? Usually takes some time to get them to Div I level.

Ditto OL, RB on offense pretty solid. TE? WR? QB?

Rush is a high motor guy who should contribute right away once he learns the defense. Simeon showed up a 210lb stick man, coaches can't be happy, simply can't play DE that light.

How did this happen?

He visited in December (and presumably didn't have a weight problem) and started school in January.

As I recall his weight was 225 to 240 in various recruiting services and press releases

Big difference between even 225 (not to say, 240) and 210. At 210 he looks more like a LB or free safety, than a DE.

Did EMU weigh him on his official visit???

And, of course, take much of the information in recruiting services, etc. with a grain of salt. The only height and weight which matters which are conducted at the college (and also NFL combine for NFL prospects). The rest might be old, phony, etc. (players can lose some weight during the season).

Agree. Am I the only guy that thinks JT4 is really 6'9" at most?

I am wondering if we will break up into two teams and actually have a spring game. We've finally added a lot of depth on both sides of the ball. Regardless of format, it will be fun to see how the QBs perform.

O/T (some) but an article on fmr. MAC coaches on the MSU staff including Bullough, Treadwell and Haynes.

I guess MSU can always have a "MAC Attack" defense (two of the three are on that side of the ball in E. Lansing).

Heard CC's seemed very cautious to me interesting when discussing quarterback no mention of grissom or glass would have been nice if he had discussed what he likes or dislikes by position seems weird we are getting our first update now since the first practice seems concerned about injuries

I'm not sure he can discuss Grissom or Glass if they are not eligible to play.

Grissom, as I say many times, is NOT on the team until he becomes academically eligible. He doesn't even have the status of an equipment manager (no offense to the equipment managers, but the reference is that equipment managers aren't players).

We are about 99% sure on Grissom and have reason to believe that there might be an academic reason on Glass.

Remember, Grissom (99%) sure he was not a qualifier out of h.s. and must become eligible at EMU before being able to participate in ANY team activities.

The situation with Glass might be different and could be related to his eligibility coming from JUCO.

IF any problems were detected (I believe Glass needed to be a JUCO graduate to be certified as FBS eligible), then he would be withheld until the problems were rectified.

The MBB example was LWH who was one course short of his JUCO degree and sat out and then went on scholarship in January (and redhsirted the rest of that year).
