RE: Pre-Spring Ball/Spring Ball FB Thread
Creighton has 15 wins at EMU. Genyk had 16 and Rasnick had 20. I think he passes them both this year.

My "Mel Kiper": Throws a nice, accurate catch-able ball. Didn't see him throw 50 yards so I don't know his real arm strength.

Not a RPO passer but has good feet, can move and throw on the run and carry the leather when the receivers are covered.

I would think that he belongs in the MAC and deserves a real shot for PT.

I agree - and I think we have some good options at QB, depending on what type of game we want to play. Surprising depth with Preston and Weigers, as well as Glass (don't know much specifically about him), with Jackson and Grissom(?) redshirts/back-ups prepping for 2020/2021/2022.

Agree, but probably one or more will transfer in time as they don't want to sit in a long line for PT.

Might even see it after Spring Ball if someone is #4 or 5 on the depth chart...

And of course no one mentions Isaac who actually helped us win a game last year

I hear you. But remember the funding (Regent approval of the bonds for this and other EMU projects) was only approved Feb 9.

Wild guess: Things start to happen in a couple months (esp. as winter ends).

True, but remember there is a process which needs to be completed: bonding authority, hire contractor, approve building plans, break ground, build, etc. etc.

Article about Kent State. Nice comment at end about mid-week MACtion games. Players and recruits like them. Its about exposure.

"Give us a full year and I know full well we’ll have the No. 1 recruiting class in the MAC because that’s our expectation."

Said it before, but watch out for Kent, with the Baylor/Briles/Babers offense, when they find the right QB.

Great hire by them.

We have been through this before but non-qualifiers can not do spring ball, they can not train with the team, nothing, etc.

They are not even listed on the roster for the academic year.

They can join the team after they successfully complete one year's worth of academic work.

Bumping this thread. The guys in helmets need some love. Monday is the first day of spring ball.

A lot (as many as 9?) will get their first taste of EMU football practice. Shouldn't take long to see what newcomers Wiegers, Jackson, etc. can do at QB.

What is fun about QBs is that it is a position where one can ask a player to throw the ball 40 or 50 yards and hit a WR in-stride. Some can do it. Some can't

Would be nice to get some updated weights since the wintering condition program is finished. I suspect there will be some roster changes after the winter semester. As always the key is 85 max scholies I believe before the fall practices begin which will be August.
