Edit: What I first posted here was wrong. What I thought was game 1 was actually game 2 of a doubleheader. Rockets won game 1 3-0.

And then swept the doubleheader as the Rockets take game 2 of the series from Northern Illinois. UT trailed 3-2 going to the bottom of the sixth but scored 3 runs for a 5-3 win.

Series finale against the Huskies is Saturday.

UT lost the series opener to Western Michigan. 2-1 in 14 innings.

Rockets bounce back from a tough loss on Friday and sweep a doubleheader from Western Michigan on Saturday. Won game 1 3-0 and game 2 8-3.

Rockets are 14-3 in the MAC.

Rockets at 30 wins for the first time since 1995. And Bailey Curry has tied the record for home runs in a season.

3.5 games up on BSU for the West Title with six to go, three of them against the Cards. Split our last six and we clinch. Weird that we don’t seem to play East leader OU. They have two losses.

Pretty amazing story this season. 30 wins is the most of any MAC team, and the most for a UT team in 20-some years. Last season the Rockets had 1 all-MAC player, and she graduated.

And how about Freshman Bailey Curry tying the UT record for homers with still 6 or 7 games left. She's hitting .491 in MAC play and is near the top of the league in a bunch of categories. Shoe-in for freshman of the year?

Looks like most contributors are underclassmen.

UT welcomes back the softball alumni on May 5th, during the Ball State series. May 5th will be Senior Day too.

That's really the story for most of the non-revenue sports at UT this year...Softball and Soccer are killing it, T&F is doing relatively well, volleyball has been tearing up the recruiting trail, and baseball seems to have some very quality young guys. Add to that the resurgence of the men's basketball team and the consistently good to great football and you've got a fairly comprehensive athletic department. Not even counting the academic prowess (11 out of the last 13 MAC Academic Achievement awards have gone to UT).
