John Jancek, former UC football assistant who most recently was with Butch Jones at Tennessee, has landed as an assistant at Colorado State under head coach Mike Bobo. He is now the highest paid assistant at CSU at $350,000 per year. Don't recall much about his reputation at UC, but the guy always seems to land on his feet.

Scuttlebutt I heard was that Butch canned him at Tennessee because he wouldn't stop having an extramarital affair.

We lost out on Stephen Daniels because of John Jancek...he said he was the "weirdest man I had ever met". Not the only guy I met who said that about Jancek either.

We definitely got the better of the defensive guys from Tennessee.

I remember talking to the guy at an event a few months after they were hired and specifically asked about several of our defensive players, and I would swear he didn't seem to recognize who I was talking about. Breath was kinda bad, too.
