A possible 5 point swing in the game. Perry should have....DUH....walked the ball down court, used the clock, and set up the offense, instead of being up by one point, fast breaking, and trying to go for the kill with two and a half minutes left in the game. I love his enthusiasm....but, closing out on a win takes just as much talent(between the ears) as it does physical talent.
It is games like that one last night that helps them get more prepared for the tournament. Close games are much more strategic.
I disagree. UAB continues to lose those close games down the stretch. Losing doesn’t prepare us for winning.

Yep. we've played in a lot of close games against good teams, but haven't won any of them. We've got to win a couple of these games for me to think we have any shot at winning 3 or 4 games in as many days. Right now, wed be out in the first game or win one at best.

The bandwagon emptied last season. We should already be in clean-up mode.

Wrong. Everyone agrees last years team got a pass due to Nick’s knee.

Forget what you said toward the end of last season? "UAB won't win until Lee AND Cokley are gone". Granted you were upset after another loss but you seem to call people out as bad fans, crybabies, being over negative yet your rants are just honest opinions. You actually know something about basketball. Just try not to be such a hypocrite.

A loss is a loss but Lee and Cokley were both injured in the game.
Lee elbow to the jaw.
Cokley suffered some type of back/hip injury going for a rebound against two or three ODU bigs. He was grimacing and had some type of brace on it on the bench in second half.
Still should have won the game.

RE: ODU game thread and CUSA lines
Biggest mistakes were Perry rushing a fast break and the weird mis-communication between Bryant and Cokely on our last meaningful possession. Not sure why Norton isn't bringing the ball up there???
Another frustrating loss where we play well enough to win against a good team, but can't finish. In these close games it seems like we're playing our worst basketball in the last 2-3 minutes when it's crunch time.

#1 reason we still need a 4th servicable big man.

Hopefully we grab a juco or grad transfer big man in the spring period. And I don't mean someone that's 6'11" and skinny. I want someone that's 6'10" 250 pounds like Brandon Walters at MT.

Last game I'd have settled for Brandon Tobias after a big meal. We just somebody enough toughness to back up Cokley.

Judes upside probably exceeds Gabes.
But, a juco or 5th year with his kind of skill is very much needed for next year. And its not news to the staff I'm sure.

+100.
Everyone else's opinions are overly negative hogwash spouted by bad fans, but MB's negative posts are well thought out, reasoned, sacrosanct edicts from the uab basketball god.
