30-2
How about 36-2 instead?
30-2 is our record all-time against the Coogs after last night. What is 36-2 referencing? I like the sound of it though.
I thought you were referring to what UC's record would be if we won out. I see the numbers would be slightly off.
29-2 if we win out the regular season.
32-2 if we win out and win the conference tournament.
38-2 if we win out, including the conference tournament and the NCAA tournament.

My goal is 6-0 after March 13th. I'd be happy with 4-1 or 5-1...eventually.
Obviously we would all love to win the national championship, but as a baseline I want to see this team (and Cronin) get to the next level. If we make the Elite 8, I will consider the season a success. If we only make it to the Sweet 16, I wouldn't necessarily consider the season a total failure, but I wouldn't necessarily be satisfied either. If we lose in the first weekend, I am going to be really disappointed. My levels of excitement:
National Champions: I will take my clothes off and run around the block
Final Four: ...I'll probably still take my clothes off and run around the block
Elite 8: I will be very happy about the season overall
Sweet 16: I will feel fairly neutral -- I will remember this team fondly, but won't be entirely satisfied
Round 2 loss: I will continue having that hopeless, miserable feeling that is familiar to all Cincinnati fans
Round 1 loss: I'll have to buy a new TV after I smash the one I have now

Let me know which block you will be running around so I can be elsewhere.

Our current team reminds me of the San Diego St. team in 2011.
28 AdjO 114.1
2 AdjD 89.1
8th Kenpom at year end...used Kawhi Lenoard at the 4.
Went 32-2 (won conference tournament) and got a #2 seed...ended up losing in Sweet 16 to eventual Champ UConn...ended up 34-3. Kemba Walker scored 36 points in S16 while Lenoard got 2 fouls early and sat most 1st half.
Quote:"This run has been sensational, and I haven't yet been able to put it in perspective," said Huskies coach Jim Calhoun, who was cited by the NCAA last month for recruiting violations and failing to create an atmosphere of compliance. "I couldn't have asked for a better gift than this team, and then we get this. I don't remember anything quite like this. This is different. This team genuinely believes in themselves and each other.
"I hate to say this, but this is an old-fashioned team."
With a newfangled scoring star who doesn't allow his size of his opponents' defense to stop his feats.
Walker outdueled Aztecs point guard D.J. Gay, who scored 16 points and trimmed UConn's second-half lead to 65-64 on a 3-pointer with 2:53 to play. Lamb replied with his 3, and his emphatic last-second dunk set off a celebration in the section of thoroughly outnumbered UConn fans.
"When your season comes to a screeching halt, like it will for every team with one exception, it hurts," Aztecs coach Steve Fisher said. "It should hurt, regardless of when, where and how. For our team this year, for what they've accomplished, it hurts exponentially more. I could not be more proud of how we competed, how hard we played, and unfortunately we came up a bit short."
Gay scored 16 points for the Aztecs. Kawhi Leonard had 12 points and nine rebounds but never dominated inside, while Billy White added 14 points.
"Both teams fed off each other," Gay said. "When one team threw a punch, the other team threw a punch, back and forth. ... Starting the second half, we were down, and there was a need for me to get more aggressive offensively. We tried to speed the tempo up, get more guys open shots, but it didn't work out."

I don't think we have anyone on this team who is going to be as good of an NBA player as Kawhi Leonard or Kemba Walker, but you never know. A Sweet 16 loss would definitely sting a little, even if it was at the hands of the eventual champion.

Would LOVE LOVE LOVE to see Jacob Evans III go on just a total tear in the ncaa and lead this team to the final four. Sure he'd be gone come June, but it'd be worth it.
RE: Houston Cougars vs. Cincinnati Bearcats Game Thread
JE3 is a potential NBA starter. Clark can play in the league if he gets a chance. Kwash will be playing professionally somewhere and so will Cumberland. Broome who knows? We have a bunch of talent this year and the team is playing incredible defense. If these guys are hitting on all cylinders at the same time... the sky is the limit.

One game at a time though...
Absolutely. If the season ends in a Final Four run and Jacob Evans being a first round draft pick, I think we'll all be very happy.
