NU won at Delaware 64-53 to up their record to 10-9, 5-3 in the CAA.

JMU leads the league at 8-0 followed by Drexel whose 7-1.

I've seen a couple games and thet're fun to watch....especially Jenco and a freshman from New Jersey named Stella Clark who is a four time rookie of the week.

RE: NU Women’s hoops
Genco is my favorite non-Drexel player in the CAA. I think of her a Drexel player who got misplaced and wound up at Northeastern by mistake. She would have done really well in Denise Dillon's system. Both teams are playing well, but Drexel has really had NU's number of late. I'm looking forward to the game tomorrow.

RE: NU Women’s hoops
NU dropped a hard fought game at Drexel 58-50.

For the first time in quite a while, I watched most of the game. NU took a one point lead in the 4th quarter but came up just short.

It’s the first time I can remember a NU Women’s team play one of the top two teams and felt like they had a chance to compete. It was a close game throughout.

I honestly feel like a top 4 finish is real possibility for the first time since we joined the league.

RE: NU Women’s hoops
The key to the game was Kelsi Lidge's foul trouble. She left the game with 2 fouls early in the 1st quarter, and most most of the 1st half. Northeastern was able to keep the game close as a result. Then she got her 4th foul in the 4th quarter, and after that, Northeastern took the lead as part of their 13-2 run. Then when Lidge came back in a few minutes later, Northeastern scored just 1 basket the rest of the game, and Drexel finished with a 13-2 run of their own. With Lidge on the floor, Drexel is really tough. But I give Northeastern a lot of credit for how well they played on defense. You could tell that Drexel couldn't get any flow on offense for most of the game. That wasn't the case last weekend in Boston.

It seems as if everybody who Jess Genco knows from Scranton made the trip down to Philadelphia for the game yesterday. I think there may have been more people rooting or Northeastern than for Drexel, which made for a fun atmosphere. Speaking of Genco, how about that shot that she made from her knees in the 2nd half? That was just sick.

NU best Delaware 73-59 at Cabot to sweep the season series.

It’s NU’s first sweep of the Blue Chickens since the ‘97-‘98 America Least season.

The Huskies are tied for 3rd with Elon.

A top 4 finish would be remarkable.

NU defeated Hofstra 58-54, to clinch a share of fourth place with Delaware.

NU will be the 4th seed on a tie breaker. It’s the highest seed NU has ever had since joining the league.

NU and UD play March 8th in Philly 2:30.

Congratulations to the NU Women’s hoops team who are headed to the Women’s Basketball Invitational tournament (WBI).

NU will host Yale at Cabot Thursday night at 7pm.

It’s the first time NU has made a postseason tournament since joining the CAA.

RE: NU Women’s hoops
For the first time that I can recall, the NU Women’s hoop team is ranked somewhere.

NU, with a 3-0 start, comes in #25 in College Insider Mid-Major Women’s poll.

http://www.collegeinsider.com/womens-mid...top-25.php

And NU crushed UNH at Cabot in a matinee today. So theyre 4-0 with another home game against Air Force this weekend.

This is NUs first 4-0 start since the 1982-83 season...

They could be 5-0 before next weeks game at Florida on the SEC Network.

RE: NU Women’s hoops
NU upped their record to 6-0 with a 79-66 win at Florida. Its their first 6-0 start since the 1960s.

Jess Genco once again led the way with 26 points and Ayana Dublin has 14 points.

1st win over an SEC team, even though Florida is 0-6 on the season. Anytime you can win at an SEC team its a nice win.

Wow, what a win vs UMass! Caught the end of this one and didn't leave disappointed. Game winning 3 at the buzzer to win by one, and this followed another clutch 3 pointer that happened just prior to that. Got the ball up the court in just a couple seconds. Nice job ladies

NU overcame a tough start and got two huge 3-pointers, including the game winner from Shannon Todd at the buzzer to beat UMass 53-52 at Cabot.

NU improves to 7-0, to tie the program record for best regular season start!

You're 24th in the RPI and one of 22 teams with at least 2 away wins without a loss.

RE: NU Women’s hoops
NU won at Fairfield 59-50, for their 8th straight win to start the season.

It’s the first time NU has jumped out to a 8-0 start in program history.

They are one win shy of tying the program win for consecutive wins with 9 set by the 1998-99 team, that team went to the NCAA Tournament.

NU plays at Providence on Saturday.

You remained in 13th. The three undefeated teams are 13th, 15th (Ohio), and 24th (South Alabama).

After the Providence game, NU’s next two opponents are @Marist and Maine.

Both teams are ranked 11th and 12th in the poll.
