Kevin Scarbinsky leaving AL.com
Quote: Kevin Scarbinsky‏Verified account @KevinScarbinsky

Now I know how coaches feel. I have a great job at http://AL.com . I've been offered another great job too good to pass up. I'm joining Bruno Event Team as VP of Marketing. To all of you, thank you, and stay tuned. My work here isn't done.

Well, hell. This area is losing a voice of reason, and there are precious few of them. I hate to see you go, Kevin.

Best wishes in your new career. Stop by the Blazertalk tailgate come football season and we'll feed you up.

As VP of marketing I'm sure he'll be involved in game day experience for us as well as Tuscaloosa. I'm interested to see what ideas he has

Very strange decision on the part of the Bruno Event Team.

I'm sure the $12/hour blogger they hire to replace him will stop by on occasion.

Kevin was extremely helpful in the fight to restore football. We may not be where we are today without him.

Not really. Their Senior VP of Sales and Marketing worked with Kevin at AL.com for 11 years as VP of digital sales.

Now that Kevin is leaving AL.com, who is left there to take up that space? What names might we regard as competent?

Is kevin leaving The Zone on 33/40 as well?

Don't understand why you consider it a strange decision. Kevin is a very sharp guy with a long history with Gene Hallman and Ronnie Bruno. I would suspect that this isn't the first time that Gene Hallman has inquired about bringing Kevin on board. Great move on both sides.

Curious what the new job entails? Will he be writing to promote their events or what?

I’ll always be grateful to Kevin. He’s always been fair to UAB IMO. Very important to us during the fight.

RE: Kevin Scarbinsky leaving AL.com
interesting responses...ive always really liked Scarbo...when he writes an article supporting UAB, Blazertalk seems to give him a little credit. but i feel like mostly on Blazertalk, he's been called a hack, and had people be hypercritical of his writing style.

im sad to see him leaving the AL dumpster fire...but totally get it

I've always hated his writing style and I have no idea as to his personal opinions, but I always felt that his pro- UAB stances were to stir up the Alabama fans who automatically react when anything positive is said about UAB. It was a good way to get clicks.

RE: Kevin Scarbinsky leaving AL.com
At one time, Kevin wrote a fair but somewhat inflammatory piece on Gene Bartow toward the end of his coaching tenure.

Gene did not like it and revoked his press pass for awhile there.

Yeah, that's why he kept coming to basketball games with his family.
