RE: Mid-morning ranking
The Mid-Major poll underrates the CAA, and that was true last season also. William & Mary is 11th among eligible teams in the RPI and is tied for 34th. Hofstra is 20th among eligible teams in the RPI and didn't get any votes. In general, if before the season I had to pick what conference is most likely to be in the Top 12 of the Conference RPI without getting an at-large bid, the CAA would be one of the top candidates.
Outside the CAA, Buffalo has the best RPI of the eligible teams and is ranked 11th. I think every "expert" would rank Saint Mary's and Gonzaga ahead of Buffalo, but the RPI has Buffalo better than those two. California-Davis is 12th among eligible teams in the RPI and didn't get any votes. South Dakota is 33rd among eligible teams in the RPI and is ranked 9th.
