With these types of perks...
...how are any of us supposed to beat Georgia Southern out for recruits.

He is recruiting for Kirby Smart at Georgia, but he is not a coach of any kind right now. Likely he will stay as some defensive analyst for now.
Tyson and Kirby know each other from way back.

Not being allowed to wear earrings inside is a strange rule anyway

RE: With these types of perks...
But seriously, though, read that whole passage...
Quote:“The biggest piece was our guys had gotten so uptight and tense where, if one mistake was made, they deflated. I tried to make things more relaxed. I’m going to tell you this and you’ll say it’s crazy, but one of the first things I did was let them wear earrings in the building and in meetings. I brought some things in from the past that older guys knew and believed in, a lot of stuff Coach Fritz did. It just brought a positive vibe back. They rallied behind it. We made practice more fun, had competition stuff. I did a silly thing like change the jersey colors in practice to change things up. It’s a new season, new start. The main thing was bringing back the positive vibe and letting guys know they’d play fast and hard and have fun.”
This and the reaction of the players to Lunsford being named interim coach tells me all I need to know about Tyson Summers.
It's what happens when you have the first FBS team ever to run the table in conference in their first season then wins their first ever bowl game and the next coach comes in and says he needs to "change the culture".

And "they're not tough" and they "need to know how to practice."

Summers sounds like he was total buzzkill.
I wouldn't be fired up about playing for him either...

Careful. It's a slippery slope. Next thing you know, they'll be playing rap music.

Fritz had a DJ for pre-game warm up and I believe at practice from time to time.
Fritz made it fun to play football at GS.

Unless they were playing '70's rock that would be awful. Of course since I am 63 I doubt I would be there.

I would definitely be ok with some ACDC type rock at practices. "Shoot to Thrill" comes to mind. High energy stuff.

That was the tunnel lead out song under Fritz. Sort of became a running theme and was used often.
