I talked to him briefly at the basketball game yesterday. I wished him well on signing day Wednesday, and he got a big smile on his face. I took that as a positive on who NIU is signing

Wonder if anyone is hearing of any potential surprise signings for national signing day? 247sports still has Tre Huntley 3 star DE out of Florida still listed NIU as a potential landing spot, but he was recruited by Carey so who knows. I’m guessing it will be uneventful.

I'm excited about this new Offense.

I get the feeling that the TE group will have a great opportunity to make a splash à la Dallas Goedert (drafted by the Eagles out of S. Dakota St). Hammock has cited that scouting Goedert is what impressed him about the new OC.

Passing game matchup nightmares. Exploiting MAC LBs. Forward passes that actually go forward, imagine that Huskie fans.

Doesn't matter. If any of them can ball they'll earn a scholarship.

Point was that the opportunity should be there, not just for one of these guys but, for the whole TE group. There are already some athletic TEs on the roster, and on scholarship, who should be ahead of these guys. Bringing in competition can only be a good thing.

I think the coaches are looking for someone, or a few, to emerge.
