RE: MAC football schedules- wait continues
What an absolute garbage schedule.

- Two Saturday home games: Delaware State and Eastern Michigan
- Hosting a P5 team on the first game of the season, should be huge attendance...but they put it on a Friday!?
- They put the CMU game at a good point in the season and on a Saturday, and then ruined it by competing with UM/MSU. Come on MAC, protect your rivalry games, especially your biggest one!!
- The last Saturday game is Oct. 20, last Saturday home game is Oct. 6...just pathetic...

The only positive I can see is that 3 of our last 4 games are at home, and they should be our 3 toughest MAC games outside of CMU rivalry: Toledo, Ohio, NIU

Bleh....this makes me slightly less excited for the season.

Our administration and the MAC office worked very hard on this schedule, cut them some slack...03-rotfl

We definitely got the shaft in the schedule this year... it’s just the problem when ESPN wants to show your games on national TV...

Really don't think it has anything to do with ESPN wanting to show particular teams games. It's more of a rotating thing, with different teams getting better/worse MACtion schedules each year.

EMU has 10 Saturday games next year, and 2 on Friday. CMU has 11 on Saturday and 1 on Friday. Last year we may have had the worst schedule in the entire MAC. Playing the last 5 games of the season on Thurs, Thurs, Weds, Weds, Tuesday! 3 of those last 5 with 4, 5 and 5 days off between games. Oh, and only 5 home games the entire year to boot.

Just absurd, but it is what it is.

Just one more reason to leave the MAC.

Frankly those MACtion games should all be Kent, Akron, EMU and Buffalo, as none can draw anyway. Let the teams that draw stay on Saturday.

MACtion is for one demographic. GAMBLERS VEGAS BOOKIES. They need a midweek event to bet on.

Quote:It’s very likely Michigan and Michigan State will play a day game. They’ve only played one night game in their history, in 2017, and are unlikely to repeat that, given the logistics (security, alcohol, etc.).

Alford said there’s a good chance, then, that Western and Central will play their game under the lights.

The Big Ten is trying to pressure teams into playing more night games, especially rivalries.

If I had to guess today, I bet we get a Noon kick-off because Michigan vs. MSU will be 7pm kick-off.

Still sucks either way.

say whatever you want about the schedule, at least the MAC made it somewhat fair with the short turnarounds/long turnarounds.

The only 2 games WMU has where their opponents will have had a different amount of off days between them is the NIU and Ball State games. Ball State will have 11 days and we will have 10 days off and the NIU game, we will have 7 and they will have 6.
