Congrats. You going to any games this season? I’m gonna try to get up to Williamsburg for the UNCW game.

It won’t be pretty for us though.

You two want me to make you a separate forum? I can dim the colors, maybe play some violin tunes on loop?

It would need some Metallica, Doors, maybe some blood dripping down the walls.

Since the tournament is still 2 months away, you never know. Tons of games left. Plus, you guys still have 7 more at home. We have only faced 1 of the top 6 teams so far(Hofstra) and it was at home. Long way to go yet. Oddsmakers favor Towson, COC, and Northeastern over us. We did lose 4 starters from last year's team. But, it was a very good week for us.

I'm traveling a lot for work and the kids have indoor soccer, basketball, Scouts, etc. Makes it tough. I went to the game at GMU and that's it so far.

I'm sure we will catch a home game, just not such which.

RE: CAA Conference Season
Brian Mull tweeted out the Ken Pom projections for the CAA last night. UNCW projected at 4-14 made me cringe... I do agree that the conference is weaker as a whole this year but man those top 6 teams can play. All have a chance to make a run at the conference tournament. Wouldn't sleep on Drexel either with the return of Isabell.

W&M 12-6
Northeastern 12-6
Elon 11-7
Towson 11-7
CofC 11-7
Hofstra 10-8
Delaware 7-11
Drexel 6-12
JMU 6-12
UNCW 4-14

Not what Mull thinks... or anyone by that matter. It's Ken Pom's projections based off of advanced metrics. Regardless, still doesn't look very good. Potentially, going from 29 wins to 7 wins in one season. Sheesh

And nearly 75% of the losses Keatts had in 3 full seasons here

Not an ideal start to the McGrath era, but understandable. Don't think there are many coaches out there including Keatts that could win with this roster. Losing 4/5 starters, 5 recruits, Sallah, Elmore's injury, and Richmond's dismissal...

On a roster of 14, State has 5 people left from last year they are 11-5

Keatts has done a great job, but I do not see that team going to the NCAA Tournament and would be surprised if they finish at .500 or above in conference play. He has clearly stated that his team does not have the talent to compete in the ACC, Clemson and Notre Dame losses prove that. C.B. is in a similar situation. UNCW clearly does not have the talent to compete at the top of the conference this year. In his first year, due to the circumstances, I'm ok with that.

It's not. Both rosters had significant turnover and lose a majority of the key contributors. One has a winning record, one doesn't(not even close)

UNCW has 3 players that played significant minutes in NCAA basketball prior to this season. Cacok, Talley, and Bryan(played 3 minutes against UVA). So that's 3 of their normal 8 man rotation.

NC State has 6 players of their 8 man rotation that have played significant minutes in NCAA basketball. 3 of which who have played/started for teams that made the Sweet 16. (A.Freeman, L. Freeman, and Abu) Dorn was Freshman POY in the CUSA, Yurtseven was a 5 star recruit. Beverly and Batts were 4 start recruits.

That is "comparing apples to oranges"

Keatts also had a bigger jump on recruiting. We'll see what happens in the recruiting for the next two years. McGrath adamantly said that he has the contacts to build this team. I certainly hope so.

No reason not to believe him there. Not only does he likely have his own strong connections, but he has Doug Esleeck's as well. Esleeck is a proven recruiter at the mid-major level.

I certainly believe he has the connections, but the question is, will he be able to sell UNCW after what is likely to be a historically bad season.
