CAA Conference Season
After non conference and the first three games I think the Tribe is the team to beat. They are the most consistent and well rounded team in the CAA

Drexel beating CofC is interesting. Isabell played and scored 14, but didn't start.

RE: CAA Conference Season
I'm absolutely not looking forward to the UNCW/WM matchup. They might hang 150 on us the way we play defense.

CAA Conference Season
Hogwash. I'm not minimizing beating 2 former conferencemates or 3-0 conference start and I'm thrilled with taking a couple road wins, but we haven't played the better CAA teams yet. If anything happens to Knight, we are in trouble. He's an amazing player -- the lack of big man depth may crush us if Nate gets hurt or in foul trouble.

Besides, I can think of a couple seasons very recently when we started like a howitzer and ended badly.

Knight / Caycock is going to be something to watch.

CAA is weak this year. Your schedule lines up very favorably. Shaver is a great coach. Y'all play solid zone defense and are consistent. I don't see any team in the CAA y'all cannot beat

Way too early. For the Tribe, it is a nice start. I don't think the league is down either. Hofstra, Charleston, Towson and Northeastern all look good. Also, several others to be heard from yet. Only 3 games and a week in.

RE: CAA Conference Season
C of C is good this year forget about what has occurred to this point. The Tribe is good too and you can't forget about Towson and Northeastern. It's looking like the Tribe and C of C right now to be the top teams. I watched Towson tonight and they are solid but will have a hard time against C of C in Charleston. They aren't quite there with their guard/wing play with respect to taking over a game and securing the ball. It's a guards game to a large degree and you need a dynamic guard/wing to win this league or have a superior system like the Tribe has. Coen will have a say in this at the end of the day, he will figure things out to be competitive. Elon runs a great system and will be there too. Hofstra always has talent and is trying to figure things out but can compete.

The rest of the league is trying to figure things out and to get adjusted to new coaches/players. Drexel, Delaware, UNCW and JMU are all playing catch up ball. All of these teams have new coaches and players so it's understandable. Drexel had a great bounce back win tonight after getting crushed by UNCW. These teams are finding their way and trying to establish their future. Demir had a big night for Drexel.

Isn’t COC missing you me of their best players still?

Brantley is back and played 36 minutes last night, and recorded a double-double. I'm not sure if they have anyone else out, but I don't think so.

RE: CAA Conference Season
Today is also a long way from March 3rd. I don't think there is a bad team in the league. You guys destroyed Drexel who just beat Charleston(who I still think is the favorite). Towson is good, Hofstra is good, Northeastern is always good. Elon is virtually unbeatable at home, and JMU absolutely should have won at Hofstra tonight. So, other than Delaware which has massive injuries and only 7 scholarship players playing right now, everyone else is very, very capable. I just wish that everyone scheduled more aggressively in the nonconference. The CAA is way better than the 12th rated league. Would love more games with the A10 or the AAC to prove it. But, I doubt anyone in that league wants to come to Trask and we cannot get many decent OOC teams to Kaplan. It is hard when all the OOC opponents want all the games at their place. Tomorrow should be another exciting day, led by the Towson/Charleston rematch.

That's the guy i was thinking of. So it sounds like they are close too, or at full strength.

RE: CAA Conference Season
Is it just me or has JMU seen zero improvement from last year? They were shockingly bad last year with 5 or 6 seniors, but I just assumed that was from a coaching change and style.

Bingo...After last night, I have no idea how the season will end. How C of C lost to a Drexel team that we beat by 20 blows my mind.

Out of the 341 teams not in the CAA, 22.0% are in the top six conferences and 37.8% are in the top ten conferences. Out of the CAA's 108 out of conference Division I games, 11.1% were against the top six conferences and 31.5% were against the top ten conferences.

Smart is now out (one of our key reserves). Our frontcourt is not deep at all now. All we have is Nick Harris and a freshman, Ndiaye from Senegal.
