A nice win over a strong team. My Tigers took their 22nd of the year at Athens, Alabama ambushed Tennessee, L.S.U. handled Ole Miss, and Florida spanked South Carolina.

Two yet to go tonight including a huge one for A&M and UK.
Funny how our BB program just fell apart the past couple of years. When we joined the SEC, the last thing I was worried about was our BB program. We left the Big XII with the tournament trophy. Missouri was always more competitive in BB. We were supposed to improve the SEC. We have always an average football program basically year in and year out. Usually won 6-8 games and got into a minor bowl. We did go 11-1 a few years ago, of course, so did Kansas. lol Glad to be making a positive contribution to the conference.

TN was playing a trap game after a big KY win. TN boards this we're talking about possibilities of a one seed in the NCAA, we may have let it get to our head.

Not taking away from what Alabama did cuz well dang.

Tennessee's a great team. Sometimes you have a bad night.

We got killed by Georgia a few weeks ago and they really haven't had that good of a season.

Arkansas takes care of Vanderbilt and A&M gets a very big win at home against Kentucky. Don't know if it's true but somebody said that this was the first time ever that a Kentucky basketball team lost 3 conference games in a row?

Nah JR, I believe that stat was referring to this being the first time UK has ever lost three games in a row, conference or non-conference, in the Calipari era. I think we'd only lost two in a row once in the last nine seasons, and now we have both a two-game and three-game losing streak to our credit this year. Tough year to have a down year for UK standards, the year of the most loaded SEC top-to-bottom in many years.

In good league news, the NCAA selection committee released their first reveal of the top 16 as it stands for the NCAA Tournament as of today, something of a basketball takeoff of the transparency of the College Football Playoff rankings being released ahead of time, and both Auburn and Tennessee made the top 16, with Auburn getting a very well deserved #5 overall ranking - meaning they are the highest of the two seeds as of today, and a hop and a skip away from a one seed. UT even with yesterday's loss, sitting pretty as well.

ACC football games get the same treatment in reverse. I understand cross-promotion and don't mind it when it's kept reasonable, but ESPN just doesn't seem to know where to draw the line...

Well that was nice while it lasted. Not 24 hours after beating Kentucky and this team that was looking like it was finally getting back to its old self and it falls apart and disintegrates from injuries and suspensions yet again.

Just beyond amazed the Billy Kennedy is still our HC after all this.

Five SEC wins in a row for Mizzou. Maybe they are peaking at the right time.

So tonight Vanderbilt beats Miss State on a last second three and my Tiger take down the Cats by 10 in Auburn.

And the Dogs sweep the Gators in Gainesville in overtime.

I'm thinking:

Basically locks: Auburn, TN, Texas A&M, KY, Missouri, Alabama, Arkansas

Probably in: Florida

In with a good finish: Georgia/Miss St/ South Carolina

Must win tournament: LSU, Vandy, Miss

So I'm thinking 8 teams get in total, unless a surprise happens in the tournament. That's not a huge bold prediction, so how about seeding:

Auburn 2
TN 3
Texas A&M/Missouri 4
KY 6
Alabama/Arkansas 7
Florida 8

if Georgia/Miss St/South Carolina get in = 10
If LSU/Vandy/Miss get in, 12 seed or First Four

Would be nice, but I am betting eight SEC teams do not get bids. Maybe five at best.

Pretty much every service that follows this has us at 7 at the least and some have us as high as 9. We have the best RPI.

True, but we have that Alabama national champions and the two SEC teams in the FBS semis thing. I think they are mad right now. lol. The SEC has had a very good year. I remember only getting three teams in the tourney.

A horrible afternoon for Auburn. We lost on the road to South Carolina, but the horrible part was the loss of Anfernee McLemore. He went down with a dislocated left ankle and a fractured left tibia. South Carolina deserved the win but it was yet another game where the physicality of play was way out of control due to yet another lousy set of SEC officials.

Florida fell to Vanderbilt, Missouri's win streak was snapped by L.S.U., Kentucky got a much needed win against the Tide, and Arkansas picked up a W against A&M.

Well Georgia took down Tennessee, and Mississippi State remained viable with a win over Ole Miss.

SEC baseball began on Friday and Women's softball is finishing its second week.

Hate losing close one like this, but we press on. I am excited about SEC baseball. Great competition!

Big win for the cocks. I was at the game JR, extremely gruesome to see what happened to McLemore. South Carolina is finished with the brutal part of the schedule and or next three are UGA, @Miss St, and LSU. Probably need to win all three to make our way into the bubble

Well we get the win and Iron Bowl Trophy, but you got the national championship in football. We played well for being 2 guys down tonight.

South Carolina takes care of Georgia and Florida and Tennessee are in a close key game.
