RE: Drexel
Looks like it's gonna be a track meet tonight too. Not the defensive battle we saw against Delaware. All of our starters are now on the board.

RE: Drexel
Gary hits a three, and we're 3-6 from deep. Already more offensive deep points than we had in the last game. Not that it would have been difficult to accomplish though...

RE: Drexel
11 pt Seahawk LEAD at the 10:53 mark in the first half.

Continue playing like this, and we should run away with it! This is the kind of statement game we need right now.

Gonna rely on you to tell what happened there. I'm unable to see the game tonight, due to work.

RE: Drexel
Ty Taylor already in double digits (10), Cacok and Talley not far behind at 8 and 7. Still 6 min to go in the first half.

I know it's against potentially one of, if not the worst team in the conference, but maybe a game like this will lift his scoring confidence up a bit and we can get to a solid third scoring option behind Cacok and Talley.

By far the best half of basketball I have seen this team play all year. Great showing by Taylor

Yes, great offense BUT the defense was slack. This game should be OVER but it's not. Only up 17 points right now and gave up 40 in a half. There was a good defensive spurt with the freshmen and walk on in there.

RE: Drexel
They put us at the line for 17 freebies and we hit 14 of them. That's one of the best UNCW FT percentages (82.4) that I remember in a while.

Taylor leading the way at 15 pts at the half to go along with 6 rebounds and 3 assists to 1 turnover. The gentleman is having himself a game.

How does the defense look? I see they've turned it over 6 times (8 for us), and we "held" them to 47.2% shooting. LOL

This game looks more like our games last year from the stats, "just outscore them".

You gotta think Spiker is gonna be in the ear of the refs too. We had 17 FT attempts to their TWO.

RE: Drexel
Hawks' looking the bast they have all year against a DI team. Love the fact McGrath is mixing in a lot of zone, it keeps Cacok out of foul trouble and we look good defending. I think we are going to go as Taylor goes this year. His mid range jumper is money and i'd like to see him drive and pull up more.

Good ball movement creating a lot of good looks as well as kick outs to three point shooters in rhythm. Hawks' looking better overall the last two games, and IMO the addition of the zone has a lot to do with it. It's hard to have confidence on the court when you can't get a stop and the zone is helping us get stops.

As far as Cacok goes, i'd like to see him get more passes on a pick and roll instead of just posting up. We're trying to force it too much and teams are figuring out how to stop him or getting steals.

First time all year I can say I see progress on the court. Good first half. Doesn't look like Drexel has to firepower to come back so we should have a good chance to close this out and go 1-1 in the CAA.

Four of our five starters now in double figures, and Bryan isn't far behind with 7 pts. Gary leads our bench with 5 pts.

Dragons already with 6 FT attempts in the 2nd half (four more than they had in the first), to our three.

I still wonder if Spiker lit up a ref or two about that. All of a sudden Bryan, Cacok, Talley, and Brown all have 2 a piece for us.

There was absolutely progress in the Delaware game. While it may have been a loss, prior to this game it was the best we played defensively all year.

I'll rephrase. First time it looks like our offense and defense are showing up in the same game. Defense was better against Delaware, but our offense was non-existent and caused the loss. Our offense is in rhythm tonight and our defense looks solid, albeit against a very offensively challenged Drexel team.

Agree. Wish it happened last game, but this I do believe is what we call "progress"

What say you Seahawkhoops?
