Memphis isn't supposed to get the #1 player in the country...EVER. It is what it is.

Penny getting highly rated MEMPHIS kids is pivotal the program. He should get whatever Memphis kids he goes after.

But Wiseman isn't a Memphis kid. He's from Nashville, and has only lived here a year. Kentucky has been recruiting him for years. Until Penny was hired Wiseman was a virtual lock for UK. It will be tough to overcome that. It would be a huge blow to Cal to loose Wiseman to anybody, let alone Memphis.

If we get him, (and I think we probably will) then I'm dancing in the streets like everyone else. But if we don't, then it is NOT the end for Memphis, we will still have great recruiting classes, better than we've had in years. And we move on to the next one. The future is bright, whether we get Wiseman or not.

Rose was acknowledged by insiders to be #1 after all said and done his SR year. Only player to play in NC game, win ROY, and MVP.

Kentucky is Kentucky and Memphis is Memphis. At the end of the day none of that matters. What I hope does matter is that Memphis is important in the eyes of Nike. Cal is getting older, Coach K is getting older, so I'm hoping that Nike decides that Penny and Memphis is the future and they get behind Memphis and Penny for business reasons. If the Penny 1cent brand is beneficial to them, and they give us support, what Kentucky, Kensucky, or Bensucky thinks wouldn't matter. The Memphis brand and the 1cent brand would be huge.

Disagree. There was a lot of debate that year - OJ Mayo, Kevin Love, Eric Gordon, Mike Beasley. There was no consensus #1. The composite that year had Gordon #1 and Rose #5. Rivals had Beasley #1 and Rose #3.

Who cares what UK fans think? All that matters is Penny and who he brings in. I don't give a rats a$$ about what any UK fan thinks...
