I spent the holidays in Wisconsin and it was painfully cold. The weather in Boone has felt nice compared to that.

Eagles, last night I heard that things aren't exactly all that peachy in the Statesboro locker room. Any legs to this?

I have no delusions of grandeur, but considering we finished 9–21, 4–14 last season, but I'm optimistic we finish this season with at least 13 wins overall and 8 conference wins. Not expecting to get one of those tomorrow, however. We are pretty good about following a good win with a clunker on the road.

Hoping my Mavericks wake up and start getting back to normal this week. We've been in a funk for about 3 weeks now. Not sure where things went bad, but I'm hoping we end this week 2-2.

Do you guys still have an ice rink under the court? Seems I remember the heat from the arena causing the floor to sweat in the past because of the ice underneath the court.

What you heard may have been generated by a Jax State transfer quitting our team. He had worked his way to being our sixth man but was unhappy with his playing time. I guess he thought he ought to be starting.

The Icegators (and the referenced rink) suspended operation when the Cajundome was undergoing renovation. I'm not aware of them ever starting up again, but the rink is no longer part of the standard arena. They did have one of the Cirque du Soleil ice shows recently so I guess they still have it stored somewhere but it is no longer part of the standard arena.

Our basketball team is somewhere in Georgia. Were working to fly to Savannah, but the snow storm stopped that. Ended up flying to Atlanta last minute. Our old friend Josh Pastner and Georgia Tech were kind of enough to let the team bum their facilities for a while the team waited for the roads to clear enough to drive South.

That's got to be weird leaving Jonesboro on a clear 34 degree day and getting to Statesboro to find a few inches of snow falling.

Floor sweating wasn't a regular occurrence nor was it due to the ice. Temp outside during a game vs USA a few years ago got warm and humid fairly quickly. Whoever was in charge of facility maintenance at the Dome failed to run the air conditioning and the inside was allowed to reach dew point. Even with no ice, that sort of thing can still happen, unless some sort of BMS was installed during the recent reno.

Arkansas State has suspended Tomas Bruce for 2 games for conduct detrimental to the team. Apparently there was an incident in Atlanta yesterday as the team waited out a snowstorm before busing to Statesboro.

Since we have no depth at that position, we are left without any true post for this road trip.

This is actually hard to listen to. Southern is just throwing it inside every possession and scoring easily.

It's 31-11.

We're basically at the point now that most of us have accepted that this season is a major rebuild and we're just trying to find any positives we can. And to make it even better, we still graduate three of our current top 4 scorers at the end of the season

Cajuns are leading App 46-17 at the half. We're also not playing with co-leading scorer Jakenan Gant who's out indefinitely with a thumb injury.

Has App beaten ULL in basketball? The dominance is the inverse of football. They look like the team to beat this year.

Bobcats with a 41-30 lead at the half over the Jags . . . . .

. . Now let's see if we can keep from choking it away in the second half.

RE: 2nd weekend upcoming of Belt b-ball play: Thur 1/4 and Sat 1/6
I'm not sure where we go from here as a program. If Bruce is suspended for any significant length of time our max conference win total goes from something around 5-7 to maybe we beat Little Rock. The Brady players left are not D1 caliber, the McCasland guys are talented, but getting in trouble off the court, and are also getting yelled at a lot by the coaching staff for not caring in practice. The Balado guys are trying, but way too young.

And what's worse, 3 of our top 4 scorers are seniors.

The only way to fix this is recruiting, and it's probably not something we'll be able to solve in one class.

Tonight was absolutely abysmal for Coastal. Six guys with 3+ turnovers each, because we have, in essence, no PG. Two guys in foul trouble on a team with 9 scholarship players.

Y’all don’t know... We need/have needed a change in the program something fierce. It’s been building, has peaked, and is now an absolute cluster. Feel bad for the kids, they play hard every night.

Most of you probably thought you were getting a new legit contender, many of “us” would’ve agreed. But it’s been a house of cards behind the scenes. Can’t wait for the day we get to start building in earnest.
