Coach Cross has a fantastic coaching staff and they will figure it out, I'm not worried yet. Congrats CCU, can't wait to see ya'll be sent home in the conference tourney lol

It's a hard sell to "strongly believe UTA is the better team" when we beat you by 25 points. 07-coffee3

Either way, good luck to you guys the rest of the way unless you're playing the Chants.

ccu was the better team last night. that game shows at least to me, the glaring weakness of this year's mavs team and that is they have no answer to a good 3 pt. shooting team. UNI showed that when one guy was just allowed to shoot 3's at will. the mavs are not a good shooting team this year and the two go to guys they count on took the night off. I think the mavs get outshot even on their own court. INMHO

Seems fair. It's the Sun Belt, no one honestly expects these refs to be any good.

Didn't necessarily look great doing it. Trailed ULM for the first 30 minutes before the defense began to figure things out. But a win is a win I guess. Especially after they knocked us out of the tournament last year.

Cajuns come to town Sunday. Only thing I think we have going for us is that we're so much smaller than them that we might be able to force matchup problems with their 6'6 wing trying to guard one of our small guards. On the other hand, they should be able to dominate inside and win by 20.

Defense was dynamite in the second half. You could tell that was a point of emphasis during halftime butt chewing. They scored 41 in the first half and something like 8 points in the first 12 minutes of the second.

ULM isn’t any good, but it was quite nice to see some signs of life from us. We’ve got three pretty good players on our squad, which is enough to cause havoc. Unfortunately it’s the most shallow team ever and the drop off from first to second group is massive.

All I will say is that no one plays a full game of basketball and commits only 8 fouls. 30 FTs to 2 is even beyond what people complained about Duke. You can say we aren't any good but we made more FGs, shot a higher % from the field, both 2 and 3, and outrebounded Ark St. The 3 guys in stripes decided that game.

You know that's going to happen to us at some point. Doesn't help much does it?

Agreed ULM is not good, but how on Earth do we not get to shoot one free throw until 5 minutes left in the game. Absurd.

The App win is more impressive for this team than just the final score. They were down several times during the game that I didn't think they'd crawl back from.

I think our crowd intimidated the refs. All 2000 of us.

The Sun Belt is wacky and every team should expect a totally bad game or two during the regular season .... yes we lost by 25 points but I would not be surprised if we win by 25 the next time. One conference game is hardly indicative of how the team will be for the remaining of conference play. CCU is a quality team so it's not totally a bad lost but when UTA is hitting on all cylinders like they normally are ... I don't think any Sun Belt team can beat them.

Yep. ULM May want to consider driving to the basket at some point this season. Because they didn’t do it last night.

Because they made almost no effort to get to the rim.

You had only four DI wins agains sub 200 RPI teams against seven losses. Let’s not act like you got overlooked. CCU’s resume is no comparison to UTA’s. You just won this home game, that’s all.

Fixed it for you.

I'm not the one sitting here crowing that we have a better team. I simply said when you get your ass absolutely destroyed by 25 points by a team, it's hard to come out the next day and say, "yea, well, I'm confident we are a better team still."

Oh and we beat you last year too. Maybe you guys are just put into a voodoo like trance by our awfulness when you come to Conway?

The record doesn’t tell the story. We should only have one loss. We have let late leads slip in everyone but one of our losses. We are a good team this year, we will make some noise in conference play.

41-21 at half, hopefully we don't find a way to give it all back like we have before.
