I'd imagine that hog fans and their administration are pleased that you guys are pleased to continue the rivalry with UCA.

This game is usually quite a big deal in Arkansas, two instate schools playing each other.....sounds weird I know. There's a lot of local interest. One year the local ABC affiliate and the Little Rock stations broadcast the game statewide. It was good exposure for both teams. Lots of Hog fans were interested and tuned in or attended. Any butts in seats we can get is a good thing. Sure, we lost one against them, but it turned our season around for some reason. I always kinda pull for UCA, they understand a lot of the things stAte fans go through in this state.

It's not that weird. Come on down to D2 and you'll see it every week, we'd be happy to have you. As you know, we have been playing each other for about 90 years. Of Arkansas' 7 D2 schools, 6 are conference mates. Just thought I'd share, and back on the subject. From an old Wonder Boy: Red Wolves, you better pound that purple place down the road; it would lessen last year's pain. 04-cheers

They don't care. Never have.

And lets be clear, this isn't a rivalry. It's just a fun game that we play every now and then that draws a ton of fans, and more statewide media interest than we normally would get for a game against say Texas State.

Some years SBC schools. App has FCS games versus close FCS schools in ‘18, ‘19, and ‘24, they are needed to ensure six home games to offset paydays vs P5s. If you need these games schedule teams close that will bring fans.

No bait was cast, heck, I didn't even chum the waters. Seriously, I don't know what's going on with the man.

The other day he was lamenting the fact that Laffy offered their new coach and his assistants over $3 million to run that dumpster fire program, something no belch member had any business doing according to him, and now he's comfy-content to be scheduling in-state FCS programs.

What's next, a recommendation to have a G4 playoff? He appears to have lost his fire.

I wish App would skip scheduling FCS schools, SSU drew the worst home crowd at the Rock in years. But scheduling FCS shools can be a positive. One, it possibly adds a notch to your win record. Two, scheduling an instate (or geographically close) team can draw a lot of fans, if it's seen as a one-off or at least a once/twice a decade game. An App vs. WCU/ETSU/Furman/Elon game would bring 30k in to the KBS if it were marketed as a special one-time event.

I wish we had been able to schedule NC Central this year instead of Savannah State to get the game we owe them from replacing them with Miami out of the way. Besides, they're in-state.

App may struggle to get at least some of tge former SoCon matesm. ETSU and Elon are clearly okay coming to Boone, but I think Western and Furman may not stomach the idea of playing in Boone with no return game. Besides, they can get better paydays at big P5 schools.

Admitting that I know absolutely nothing about the SoCon and the quality of football played in that conference, it just makes me wonder why any App fan would want to see their name broadcast on national televison having played Elon. Elon. WTF is an Elon?

A game that would legit bring 30k-31k fans to the stadium. Before the FBS move the record attendance at KBS was against Elon (over 30k)

Nothing wrong with playing a FCS game a year. Our AD looks to schedule close FCS schools if not instate. I think we have Southeast Missouri this coming year. Of course don't pull an us or a you and lose to them. That's never good.

Don’t really care which FCS program we play as long as they bring fans. WCU will soon become LR from our D2 days.
