The part of the process I'm trusting at this point is the recruiting. So far, McGrath has done a solid job of early recruiting for next year. We have some guys on the way that look quite talented. On top of that, Gary is progressing very well. It was nice to see him get that confidence in his shot tonight.

It may be a tough year. It may be a tough two years, but we can and will be back!

That was tongue-in-cheek to be honest. There are very few comforting signs, right now. There's no way to rationalize this week's performance. We just have to hope for the best. I hope Gary, Estime and Taylor will be great stories of resiliency in the 2020 NCAA tourney.

If playing in Europe was his top priority he could go ahead and do that.

That would make more sense than transferring and having to sit out a year at another program.

I disagree

Fair enough. I hope stays and the team improves this year and he leads them to a CAA title this and next year! I just saw that his mom? posted this in response to tonights game.

She is a wonderful lady. I was honored to sit beside her in many games over the last 2 years and it simply doesn't get any better than Rose.

Not sure you can now... It appears this team may be laying down. Its my experiences that this sort of thing doesn't normally fix itself mid season.

C.B. said something about the team playing nervous towards the end of the game due to the circumstances of the losing streak. The streak, having a teammate dismissed, Finals, etc. It's been a lot on these kids the last few weeks. We can only hope the week off and going home to be with family can clear their minds and get them ready for Greensboro College and Conference play. As disappointing as the trip to El Paso was, there has still been flashes of good play (Furman, LSU, and Campbell). Let's hope they keep their heads up and keep fighting.

RE: 12/22 - Howard
I posted this on a thread in August....

4. Coaching? How do the players respond to McGrath if we don't come out of the gate winning? Unlike the past, when our players were used to losing and Keatts had to get them to believe in themselves, McGrath will be dealing with players who've only experienced winning and finishing first in the CAA. How does he handle in game adjustments, substitutions, strategy? All unknown.

Once they cut the lead and actually went ahead, I knew we were in trouble. This team hasn't learned to win yet and Howard knew that this was their chance. That's a completely different mindset and it makes a big difference in how tight you play. It's an embarrassment for a program like UNCW to lose to a school like that and they played tight getting outscored like 20-4 to end the game. We've seen this movie a bit now with this particular team.

We played tight? I dunno man.

Howard had THREE players foul out. Which means we could have won the game at the free throw line, for starters.

On top of that. They had a player score 42, and another scored 30. That's not playing tight. That's watching two guys school you, all night. That's zero defense. The rest of their team COMBINED for 8 points. Double team. Triple team. Change the game plan mid-game when that is happening!

The last loss was "embarrassing". This loss... I don't even know how to describe it, but embarrassing doesn't do it justice. At least North Dakota State beat us with a team.

42 points is the most an opposing player has EVER scored against UNCW. So begins the first "record" during the McGrath era. And we've played ACC teams.

I wouldn't expect a record like that to be owned by an P5 school. To go for 42, it likely is going to be a tight game throughout and the opposition is needs to go to the hot hand to keep them in the game or to keep a small advantage.

That’s awesome to hear! She has a lot to be proud of with Devontae! He is one of my top 3 Seahawk players of all time!

We are likely to be the worst team defense in school history unless something dramatically changes
