Louisville
Canyon is playing at the Yum! Center today. Up 11 - 7 early on, with 12 minutes left in the first half. Threes are falling for the Lopes, and not for the Cards. There’s a long way to go, but it’s angood start. Louisville is coming off a very close game in which they only beat Albany by 2 points. Louisville plays arch rival Kentucky next. So, I wonder if there’s any chance they’ve looked past GCU?

All tied now at 23 with a little over 3 minutes to go in the first half. GCU has 10 turnovers which is really hurting them.

31-25 at halftime. Louisville up. Not really impressed with Louisville's announcers. Absolutely homers. Guess that is to be expected though.

Down 6 at the half. Manageable. So far, benson has been really rattled. Lopes had 13 turnovers in the first half. Fouls will be a problem. They had 8 team fouls in the first half, and now they’re playing from behind. I suspect they’re getting psyched out now that Louisville is playing better. At the 6 minute mark you could tell a big difference in energy and a definite momentum swing. Canyon went from staying in control for 12 minutes to trying to keep up the pace against better skilled guys.

I hope Dan gets them calmed down at the half. Benson isn’t going to beat these Cardinal guards off the dribble; just not quick enough. I hope we don’t start settling for one and done threes. Rebounds are hard to come by against the Louisville bigs. Oh, and they live blocking shots.

RE: Louisville
Tough one. There were opportunities at times, but I think we were mostly just outclassed and got rattled. At least it was under 20 points. Last time at Yum Center it was a 48 point loss two years ago. I don’t want to think about that game ever, ever again.

Merry Christmas to Lope fans everywhere. Looking forward to conference play!
