03-lmfao03-lmfao03-lmfao

That at least made me feel a little better about the reality in 82’s post.

RE: UNCG
Hawks have no high post threat right now either like that big foreign kid for UNCG. Elmore could really help this team. Still, you have to be able to break a press like the one that they played against. It was a soft press at that!

McGrath is going to lose this team really soon. Almost everyone on the roster has was a Keatts player and has experienced nothing but success. My greatest concern now is that Cacock transfers next year if we don't right this ship.

It is the height of irony that a UNC guy saw what UNCW was doing, adopted the press, and is now 7-3 on the year having just taken down UNCW...who beat him with the press.

Sorry that you ate just now seeing this...It was evident from the get go that the egos of this bunch wouldnt allow them to play their predecessors style until they got their own recruits in.Yes, they are in danger of losing this team.

If spelling his name right will get McGrath to press or do SOMETHING to win, i'll gladly change. Otherwise, he deserves better than this mess.

We ALL deserve better than this!!!!!!!! This is FREAKING UNCW hoops and we just got beat by double figures by G. Yes, their coach has been there for a while but this shouldn't have gone down like this at all. Hawks should press a little bit with this team.

Gray, i'm not just now seeing anything. I was furious when we did nothing to maintain continuity in this program. I predicted the fallout of our transfers and recruits after our last chance in Siddle left.

However, once what's done is done I am at least willing to wait until the new product plays some games before predicting anything. And i'm also willing to allow an opening game against Davidson to pass. BUT....ECU...UNCG...unacceptable.

McGrath better speed up his learning curve and fast, or we're headed for a 7 win season at best. If that happens, the downward momentum will be too much too overcome during his contract and he'll be one and done as a HC. We don't have the name recognition to overcome our deficiencies with recruiting.

You coach. Tell me. At the end, down double figures with 44 seconds left, McGrath had the boys press. Why then? What’s the point of that. Sticking with a “game plan”, watching it fail then changing it up with 44 seconds of garbage time left? Why?

Please, anyone that coaches... feel free to enlighten me there.

RE: UNCG
It baffled me too. It clearly wasn't part of the plan and, as you know, is a natural way to play when you're down. That's the way it looked to me. If they're going to play like this, they better start valuing the ball WAY better. If you don't get a shot up and commit a live ball TO, you're going to get your butt beat every freaking time. The more aggressive team wins most of the time...that's just the way it works.

Nothing to enlighten from me. If I have a game plan and it’s not working I adjust that’s coaching 101

That's exactly what i mean. Timeouts and halftimes primary use should be to make adjustments. I was actually very happy he called a Quick TO after second half started 5-0, because i thought, maybe he is learning. but, then the rest of the game happened.

Defense was better but we all know you have to take care of the ball on the road to have any chance of winning games. Sounds like most were unforced and just being sloppy with the ball, that is something that can and has to change quickly
Seahawks have about 4 or 5 legit D1 players than can compete at this level and maybe 2 or 3 young guys that will be good. The roster is just not where it needs to be right now to compete in top 1/3 of the CAA and if they can go .500 in conference I would consider that a success. Its hard to go backward but it has to happen with most mid majors when they change coaches for whatever reason. At this point they have played less than 1/3 of one season so I don't really have enough evidence to judge the staff on. I will say that losing the best returning backcourt player is a killer.

TOs were unforced, but many could have been avoided by 1 SMALL adjustment. We had a big man taking out the ball against a press. He becomes the pass back guy when the PG gets trapped. That happening was the cause of several of the turnovers, as the big men were the guys having to makes uncomfortable passes or even handle the ball. ONE small adjustment would have fixed this. UNCG was not pressuring the inbound pass. Put another ball handler taking out the ball. Problem solved. THESE are the types of things that drive me crazy about this staff. Inability to recognize simple adjustments that could put their players in a spot with a better chance for success.

Since we shot a dismal 64% free throws, should we have the coaches shoot for them?

Even if we shot 100% we still lose. Whereas we turn the ball over only 5x we probably win.
I understand you are in the other camp 33, but is my suggestion above not fair?
