We've gotten naming rights for the football stadium and basketball arena for $15 million. On top of that the football field was named after the Allison family for a personal $5 million donation.

Now we need to find another big donor like Allison....Arkstfan....Faninla.....maybe?

My personal debts are almost that big. Gotta live to 148 to pay them off.

Basically, would stAte allow the possibility of playing SBC championship in Little Rock?

My guess is no.

Would App consider playing the SBC championship in Raleigh, or Charlotte?

All our named stuff are basically founder types from the 80's. The two buildings at each end had naming rights sold.

I could see it happening in Charlotte if the conference ever gained any respect. But, point taken.

Side note: If App really wanted to hold a Championship game in Charlotte the years they hosted rather than forcing SBC teams to drive up the Mountain to deal with the famous Boone December weather, no one is going to stand in their way.

I'd rather play in front of 75,000 screaming fans who want us to lose every game than play in the snow in front of 20,000 throwing snow balls at you on the sideline.

I'm an advocate of hyphenating or combining Paulson with something for the right donation amount i.e. Gulfstream Field @ Allen E. Paulson Stadium for like $5 mill over 10 years or something, but I don't know whether anyone would go for it. Agree that naming rights should be in play for a new bball arena if we ever get one.

Walmart money stays in Fayetteville and Bentonville, which are about 20 minutes apart.

For the most part however, the Walton family doesn't consistently give major money to athletics - aside from Bud Walton Arena. UARK did get $120 million this year to establish a School of Art but that mostly came from Alice Walton who also created the Crystal Bridges Museum of Art.

The Waltons are known around town for supporting the greenway system, Walton College of Business, Walton Arts Center, etc.

Wal-Mart is headquartered about 25 miles from Fayetteville, and Sam Walton is a huge pig donor. We’re lucky to get a dime. Our biggest donors are all alumni

Sam died 25 years ago and was a Mizzou Alum. His sons Rob and Jim went to Arkansas and are the big donors there.

You mean I've been hating a man that's been dead for a quarter century? That's awesome!
