Nice. Really enjoyed your Blizzard interview. How about getting Joe Browning to help set up telephone interviews with other former Seahawks and including them on a semi-regular basis?

We will be taping a podcast at some point this week (might not be Monday). If you've got a question, we'd be happy to answer it.

How about an update on player development? Any insights on, for instance, Trey Kalina may be a bigger factor after having had a year of on-campus work with Joe Wolff? Also, given how much Devontae Cacok developed between his freshman and sophomore years, what do we know about improvement by last year's freshmen?

Another special edition podcast is about to drop - on Saturday we'll be sitting down with former UNCW coach Jerry Wainwright to talk about his time in Wilmington. Get your questions in now!

RE: Latest Episode of "The Beat and the Beard" UNCW sports podcast
Mid Majors have always faced challenges trying to compete in the same Division as the power conferences. I'd like to know how Wainwright would judge the degree of challenge the mids face today as opposed to when he was at UNCW. Also, while he went on to be a head coach in 'higher major' conferences, he did not coach in a Power 5 conference. What was it like trying to recruit and schedule at Richmond and Depaul vs. at UNCW when it came to competing with P5 confernces?

In the same token as 70s, how did we get UMass to come to Trask back in the mid 90s when they were in the top 10? Also were there any schools that he wanted to schedule more regularly but couldn't get?

I would love to hear any stories/memories he has on the 1998 UNCW Princeton game at Trask. Did he think we got jobbed by the ref counting that 3 and forcing OT? That was always one of my favorite games at Trask, does he have any favorite games from Trask?

The correct word for the princeton game was not jobbed - it was (to put it nicely) screwed!

Before we drop Wings with Wainwright, there's a lot to catch up on in fall sports. Check out Episode 73 of The Beat and The Beard with interviews from UNCW men's soccer and volleyball, plus a whole lot more.

Giving this to you guys early (that's what happens when you're in Hawaii). Wings with Wainwright is available. We hope you enjoy this one as much as we enjoyed chatting with coach.

Awesome episode. As much as I like the Blizzard one, I think Jerry might have topped it. Hope he's able to get back to Trask some this year, maybe even sit in on a practice or two. Would be a shame to have a basketball mind like his right down the road in Leland and it not be put to use.

Lefty Driesell would mention it in every press conference and Jerry would just turn it up more.

RE: Latest Episode of "The Beat and the Beard" UNCW sports podcast
I was at the Minnesota game he talked about. My memory, other than our win, was that their band was right next to our bench. The band members & leader were giving Jerry grief during the game but Jerry keep telling them how great the band sounded. He also told them he wished he could take them back to Wilmington because they were so good. He kept giving back as good as he was getting from them right up until the final buzzer. Jerry is one in a million.

If Bass would put Jerry on fund raising for our facility crisis he would raise all the money we need. He has a rapport with the right people that nobody in our department currently has
