Pretty good shot that you aren't going to be missing it for much longer.....

Well, we aren't going to fire him and I don't expect anyone to come calling after that loss to South Alabama, so I expect we're good for at least one more year.

If I'm Neal Brown, I keep my happy ass in Troy before heading to that dumpster fire in Ole Miss. He's a good coach and doesn't need to risk ruining his stock at some place about to be swoned by the NCAA.

A different p5 is a different story... But I'd not touch Ole Miss.

I would go if I were him. A 3 or 4 year guaranteed contract would set him for life in terms of money. As long as he doesn’t go 0-fer during his tenure, his career would rebound.

Brown has done a great job at Troy, very impressive as a matter of fact. He is a proven head coach and knows offensive football which Ole Miss wants. He may not get the job but it certainly would not be a surprise to me if he is their choice. What other steps should he make?

If Brown were a mediocre coach, I'd tend to agree. It's not the worst idea in the world. I just think he could do better and have a longer career.

I don't think he'd be wise to take the Ole Miss job. There are many other P5 jobs that will be interested in him that won't have NCAA issues.

Most coaches don't think that way. They want the big life changing pay day. Brown would go to Ole Miss in 1 second if they offered.

I don't think we are. The only P5 openings I could see him in the mix for aren't even open yet, but could be. Texas Tech, Wake Forest, and Mississippi State would be the potential 3 that would open that I could see him in the mix for with Miss State being the least likely of the 3.

A Texas Tech opening would scare me.

Brown was the OC at Texas Tech and had top 10 offenses there.

Was he there when they were locking kids in dark janitors' closets for punishment?

That would explain your seemingly highly motivated offense at Troy. 03-shhhh

Don’t think so. But never heard of that. He was there under Tommy Tuberville

Y’all act like if we lose Brown we will drop off into below average... remember Troy has a winning tradition like GS. We will find another great replacement and the 3million dollar buy out we would receive would allow us to pay a lot for one.

I could probably give you two million reasons why he would walk to Ole Miss pulling all his possessions in wagon if offered the job.

The chances you get a coach equal to or better than Brown are less than getting one worse, just going with the averages man.
