The Stanford game
Downloading the Pac 12 app doesn't seem to be enough to make it possible to stream the game. You have to find a service that includes the Pac 12 app. Looks like a solution is to sign up for a free one week trial of Sling, watch the game and then cancel. Easy enough to do but maybe there's an easier way.

RE: The Stanford game
Stanford lost last night to Eastern Washington. This game is winnable for us, and should be a real test to see how our kids will work together. Last few seasons have been pretty nice with some out of conference wins vs. some major conference schools, hopefully we can get another.

As for the video, now idea.

Watched the game (taking advantage of my free Sling trial). If the game is winable it's because three of Stanfords rotation players were out and they were forced to start three freshmen, including both guards. The bad news is that they are loaded with three and four star players and a guy named Travis who is unstoppable down low. Also, they had a bad shooting night, including two for sixteen from three. Eastern Washington shot well from three which is what we will have to do to have a chance on Friday.

And we’re fully capable of shooting well from three, it’s part of NU’s game.

I actually think both games could be winnable on this road trip.

Not really sure what "winnable" means. Are there any games on our schedule that aren't winnable? We have been a "live by the three, die by the three" for a long time. Stanford has a good 1-3-1 defense that made it really hard for Eastern Washington to get off wide open threes.

It means as a team and as a program playing on the road at a Power 5 conference doesn’t mean we’ Get the door blown off of us.

We have the talent and the “street cred” over the last 5 years of knocking off P5 teams to where those games are winnable. Of course almost every game is winnable.

Vermont going to Kentucky at first glance at the schedule doesn’t look “winnable” for example. Turned out it actually was for UVM.

RE: The Stanford game
I'd say winnable means 20% or greater chance. Something where we won't be expected to lose by 15+. Every game on the schedule has been winnable for us for a while now. I wasn't sure what to expect with this team this year. We lose to bu by a decent amount and maybe I have a different outlook for Friday. Not really winnable but let's see how our new players develop in a tough situation.

But the team did show up and play well against a decent Patriot League team on the road. I know small sample size, but makes me hopeful for the next two games.

I like that definition. We're not likely to win but if a combination of good things happen we have a chance....like shooting almost 50% against Michigan State last year. I wonder what the point spread will be for the game.

Beating BU was great but they are picked to finish second in what will probably be the 24th best conference again. I would be more optimistic about Stanford if we routed BU or if we were a little farther along in the season. We had ten games under our belt when we played MS and the freshmen had integrated.

RE: The Stanford game
I knew that Vermont was expected to be good this year. I see that Mid Major has them rated as third best!
