Time for a new AD?
This sports administration frivolously lost whatever advantage it once had that had been laboriously developed by past administrations. Once momentum is lost its difficult to regain. Both football and basketball are in trouble, serious trouble. The current situation is not sustainable economically. Time for a new AD. The sports administration tree at the top needs to be shaken. Otherwise see mediocrity set in. Want to see TU at the bottom of the AAC year after year. Guess what its already happening.

RE: Time for a new AD?
The thing that can kill a program faster than anything is a poor athletic director. We've seen this before. An AD that tends to be a "glad hander" and self promoter.

Call it the Roger Goodell syndrome. Something goes well, its his/her credit. Something goes wrong, they hide under the desk.

An ADs first job is to be economically sound and build facilities. Those facilites last regardless of who is in charge. Judy McCloud was a builder and a visionary in that regard. She revolutionized the facilities on campus. We need to have someone like that. imo

Dr Phil often says "What in the HXXX were you thinkin?" to his guests on the couch. Here are few of them:

1. Dropping mens golf
2. Cancel IPF facility and other facility enhancements
3. Switching radio from KRMG (740AM to 99.5 FM) which few people can pick up during games.
4. Scheduling away games (losses) that make no sense or just to make the quick buck and guarantee the quick loss and destroy a promising season.

An ADs job is to make sure the coaches/players have the funding and facilities "TO WIN". It isn't just the head coaches that are responsible, but they are always the first to be fired ------- by the AD that had a hand in creating the mess.

RE: Time for a new AD?
A big part of the problem Tulsa is having with programs on a downward trend and ticket sales drop starts with the AD position. It all starts there. Policy's are started and enforced there. It affects everything in the sports program, everything. People tell me Tulsa isn't a great sports town for ticket sales. Their right its not great. But that isn't the problem with Tulsa's tickets sales trending downward with no up tick in sight and it doens't seem to matter how good the sports product is. Tulsa's current ticket sales woes didn't start until the current ticket policy's, prices, and fees structure was put in place. Tulsa used to have sellouts at the Reynold's Center. But that was before the current pricing, and fees structure was put in place. To make TU's current ticket pricing and fees work you must be having sellouts with a waiting list. Tulsa has neither of those. TU is a complete non-compete when it comes to competing with the local entertainment ticket venues. Tulsa being non-competitive with its ticket sales policy's also affects how the sports programs recruit. Tulsa sports programs haven't played before full houses of fans since the current ticket policy's were put in place. It puts all of the sports programs at a disadvantage when it comes to recruiting because recruits want to play before full houses of fans. The coaches can't come out and say this because it would put them on the bad side of the AD. So it comes back to the AD.
